July 29, 201312 yr Author comment_5553813 Shane Douglas is so overly literal in his promos that it makes me laugh. Listen to his description of the TV title and what being TV champ means and you'll see what I mean. Brian Lee and Chris Candido, who is hilarious, also have a few words. This is followed by a clip of a house show altercation between Sabu and Taz at a recent house show.
August 10, 201312 yr comment_5555647 Douglas continues to be my least favorite person in ECW currently even more than Raven since he has done some decent stuff. Both again I don't think are great choices to anchor the heel side of things. Candido's animated promo went all over the place. Taz comes in and clears RVD drawing Sabu out as they have a staredown but don't touch. This was good stuff continuing their feud.
August 30, 201312 yr comment_5559403 Taz dispatches of RVD. Sabu is clearly the face so I do wonder about him and Taz doing the double turn later on.
August 3, 201510 yr comment_5689832 Yeah, the "best wrestler on television" spiel doesn't really work in 1997. Douglas' Funk impression is pretty funny, though. This booking is all over the place--what title does Funk want, exactly? Brian Lee wants to be shown the money as he talks about money, and wanting to be paid money. Money. Back to Shane and Francine. Chris Candido cuts a motormouthed, barely decipherable promo towards Sabu. Taz jumps RVD after a house show victory, but is quickly confronted by Sabu. The locker room empties to keep the two separated. Good chaotic segment to tease the long-awaited main event but still making us wait for the payoff.
March 3, 20196 yr comment_5880857 The Sabu/Taz pull-apart was nicely heated, I though. Taz casually stepping out the way of Sabu's dive at the end was cool as well. Douglas does nothing for me and overly literal feels like a pretty apt description. No idea what half of Candido's promo was about, but I found his delivery sort of amusing if nothing else.
