Last few minutes. This is the match where Shawn and HHH were pushing hard for Bret to beat Rock clean and Bret didn't think that was necessary since Rock was on the rise. Bret has the ringpost figure four on Rocky and won't let go, which leads to Austin coming out to attack Bret. But the Hart Foundation is locked in now, so Owen and Davey Boy attack Austin.

Interesting match in context giving the individuals involved. As a standalone 1997 vehicle we got the figure four over more and the Austin vs. Bret feud rages on.

Lawler starting to slowly turn towards getting behind Bret even with all their past history. Yay for Bret for realizing enough that Rock was the future. Rock was smart enough to ditch the high flying moves. Corner figure four which leads to DQ. Le Femme Nikita will air after finish of Monday Night Raw.

The floatover DDT that the Rock used here would have been such a cool move, if only he would have hit it halfway decent more than one in five times...

Rocky is still pretty raw here (no pun intended), but it's interesting to watch him work a completely different style. Bret clamps on the ringpost figure four and won't let go, drawing a disqualification. Austin is out to save, triggering a brawl with the newly formed Hart Foundation. A very promising episode of Raw, though there would be better wild brawls in the weeks to come.

Ok match in full that lost me at times. Rocky is strong fundamentally but doesn't know how to best use his charisma effectively. He certainly wasn't going to be able to use it well as a white meat baby face. Tough start for him. Bret locks in the ringpost figure four & gets DQed for not letting go. Austin comes out & brawls with Bret. However, The Hart Foundation has been formed so Owen & Davey come out & help Bret with Austin. LOD run HF off with Austin in pursuit of Bret to close the show. Hot ending.
