August 7, 201312 yr Author comment_5555308 Raven quotes Fleetwood Mac while looking stoned and I tune out. This is followed by an all-time classic Terry Funk vignette on-site at his father's grave while the piano opening of "Desperado" plays on a loop in the background.
August 8, 201312 yr comment_5555318 That Desperado scene in the cemetery was amazing. If you weren't sold after that nothing was going to get you there.
August 25, 201312 yr comment_5558477 I was fearful the copyright would come up with Raven blabbering on. Instead we get the the amazing Desperado video. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die.
August 28, 201312 yr comment_5559175 Using the dead to shill a wrestling show might be seen as crass and tasteless, but I'm sure Dory Funk would've approved.
September 1, 201312 yr comment_5559816 Funk and to a degree Richards are more interesting going into this PPV. Where’s Sandman? Anyways, it is anyone but Raven at this point.
August 29, 201510 yr comment_5695620 For a grunge rocker Raven sure loved him some Fleetwood Mac. Generally I approve of wrestlers incorporating song lyrics into promos, but Raven isn't as good at it as guys like Jake the Snake. He does manage to turn it around and cut a different sort of promo by the end, actually grinning and changing up his catchphrase. B for effort. Cut to Terry Funk in the Texas panhandle, the site of his father's grave. Thanks to not having to do this every month, Barely Legal has been the best-built-to PPV of the past 12 months, and will probably keep that title until Starrcade '97.
