August 10, 201312 yr Author comment_5555604 What do you know, Bobby Eaton had a little left in the tank! I don't think he had another big run left in him, but he was probably too good to just be doing all jobs all the time. By B-show standards, this was a lot of fun. Eaton tries to wrestle Malenko, can't and starts throwing punches before they go into a fairly hot nearfall sequence (for a Disney audience). Good stuff.
August 14, 201312 yr comment_5556276 I first saw this when Will was visiting D.C. and we were at Phil's apartment looking for the perfect match to end a fun evening of wrestling watching. We all marked out for how sharp Malenko looked and for the awesome punches delivered by 1997 Bobby Eaton. The match felt a little shorter to me this time around, but I still loved the same stuff about it. I prefer Malenko in tighter matches. As for Eaton, it's hard to watch him in the early '90s and then here without regretting all the matches we didn't get in the middle of the decade. Regardless, it's nice to have these glimpses of WCW's absurd late-decade depth on the yearbooks.
September 3, 201312 yr comment_5560115 Bobby was around 38 at time of match. He about looked the same throughout the 90’s. Eaton doing some holds of his own and giving Dean a hard time. Malenko actually needs to get a tricky roll up to get the pinfall. Nice little match between the two and Eaton looked good for the few minutes.
October 25, 201311 yr comment_5568857 Bobby's last good singles match? This match wont be in my top 100 on the year or anything but for an 8 minute B show fun match, it is tough to get better than this and this would be something that would get some play if it happened on Main Event now. Eaton's punches and brawling to counteract the wrestling of Malenko was a great contrast.
