August 31, 201312 yr Author comment_5559618 This was around the time Alex Wright was rapidly improving as a worker. He's already picking up on some heel veteran details, which is pretty cool, and mixing that in with the athletic stuff he can do. These two complement each other surprisingly well. Fun match. Wright wins the cruiserweight title.
September 10, 201312 yr comment_5561654 If we were to do an all time wrestlers dancing competition Alex Wright would have to rank up there. It might be slightly worrying how long the list would be.
September 16, 201312 yr comment_5563041 I wish I had the guts to show up in a club and pull out Alex Wright's dance moves. He wins the cruiserweight title from Jericho. Chris didn't hold that long.
December 1, 201311 yr comment_5574711 I can't get over that people thought Wright was better as a face as his dancing act is tremendous here. Very fun simple Nitro level match with both guys playing their role well and everything hit solidly. I really liked Jericho's shoulderblock to the outside. Big win for Das Wonderkid
February 18, 201411 yr comment_5588785 Under different circumstances Wright might have had a long and successful career. I mean he was only 22 at this point and was, as Loss mentioned, becoming a really fine worker. He also had size and (at least for a face) his look working for him.
July 31, 201411 yr comment_5616415 That first Jericho title reign was quite the waste. Won on an internet show, lost on Nitro to a guy he had no issue with. Nice match though, and I can't get enough of Wright's dance. It's so obnoxious and ridiculous.
November 17, 20159 yr comment_5710586 Wright's really picked up on some subtle heel touches--it's not the most original spot in the world, but it amuses me that I'm watching him execute the exact same "He's got my hair, ref!" trick I just watched the Midnight Express do in 1984 Houston. And then he combines it with some nice Steven Wright-esque escapes and cartwheels and, in all honesty, pretty much leads Jericho through a good solid match. It's not as spectacular as what we imagine the WCW cruiserweights to be, but this was a nifty little bout carried by a guy wrestling well beyond his years.
