August 31, 201312 yr Author comment_5559701 JJ Dillon says it's been a year since anyone in WCW management has talked to Sting. He would like to talk to him but hasn't been able to reach him and he would like to invite him to come forward. He has an opponent for him and all he needs is his signature on a contract. Sting descends from the rafters. JJ presents the opponent to Sting as Curt Hennig and Sting tears up the contract and walks away. I remember these segments getting more and more stupid as it was obvious Sting wanted Hogan and JJ had to play dumb. JJ says he isn't giving up and he's going to come back with a new offer.
September 20, 201312 yr comment_5563823 JJ wants Sting to return to the ring against a free agent. Wouldn't JJ want Sting to be a WCW guy facing an NWO guy? Isn't that obvious from the start what Sting wants. Sting isn't interesting in facing Curt Hennig and walks out. Not sure why Curt would sign an open contract to face Sting after all that ring rust.
January 22, 201411 yr comment_5581527 Pretty ballsy of Hennig. I remembered hating these to as it just made JJ look dumb. The first week would be fine but him saying he doesn't know what Sting wants is so dumb.
January 23, 201411 yr comment_5581545 I liked these segments as the crowd reaction seemed to get more vociferous each time out.
February 24, 201411 yr comment_5590229 This segment makes it two segments that night where Mean Gene has to help a guy out, here he shows JJ where to look at, i.e. where the camera is located. It's also funny that Dillon has no way to get into contact with Sting while having sources that know Sting to be in the arena beforehand.
August 2, 201411 yr comment_5616740 JJ Dillon keeps looking like a dumb fuck. I really never enjoyed his role in WCW, he always looked stupid and clueless. Plus the whole "Sting doesn't accept the contract" looks redondant after they ran the same kind of angle with Raven in the previous weeks. Yeah, this is were WCW began to struggle with how to fill time on top until Starrcade, which was still a long way to go.
November 28, 20159 yr comment_5712293 JJ cuts a long, boring promo seemingly designed to kill time, before we get Sting out here. JJ's big announcement is a disappointment--what is it with Curt Hennig and letdown announcements? Bischoff's not in power anymore--at least have the opponent be Buff Bagwell or some other NWO B-teamer.
October 15, 20168 yr comment_5771878 I liked this segment as a slow burn. I wish JoJo said he knew what he wanted but couldn't give it to him so this is the next best thing and Sting declines. Just that little detail would have helped a lot.
