Since JJ Dillon is injured as a result of Hogan's completely missed punch and legdrops last week, WCW will be naming an interim commissioner. Hogan makes it a point to tell Ric Flair he is not The Man and again says the title is on the line against Sting tonight. A Sting dummy descends from the rafters that crashes into the guardrail. But the real dummies are the people who actually believed this had happened. Not as tasteless an angle as something like this would be after Owen Hart. Hogan starts taunting the Sting dummy before beating him up. Bischoff then puts on a referee shirt and counts the pin. I love Hogan cutting a promo on Doug Dillinger.

I still love Bisch as Hogan's hype man. The Sting dummy descends and Hogan freaks pointing the finger at Dillinger. Vicious and Delicious bring the Sting into the ring and Hogan puts the puts to him.

Not as tasteless an angle as something like this would be after Owen Hart.

Obviously not as tasteless but still pretty bad. Though there was a funny crowdshot of a guy who looked really concerned at first and you can see this face changing to a smile when he realizes what's going on.

I had no recollection of this. The Owen Hart death makes this kinda creepier than it is. This aside, its a decent little hype segment for Starrcade, and Bischoff is indeed priceless more often than not in his role.

Clever segment from a more innocent, pre-Over the Edge time. This is one of those instances where Schiavone's worked disgust may be crossing over into legitimate disgust. I can definitely see how people might freak out seeing this for a few moments, particularly the channel-jumpers.
