September 14, 201312 yr Author comment_5562638 Hogan, Savage and Bischoff are back and still pissed off. There is a cage above the ring and no one knows why.
September 14, 201312 yr Author comment_5562651 Hogan, Savage and Bischoff are back later in the show. "No heart, no soul, no will to win. No, I'm not talking about Vince McMahon." -- Eric Bischoff Hogan is out to apologize for overreacting earlier. He gave the babyfaces too much credit. He forgot how awesome he really is. Then two Stings hit the ring and attack Hogan and Savage. It turns out to be Page and Piper. Another Sting gets attacked by the other NWO guys on the way to the ring. Then the cage lowers and the crowd is going crazy. Suddenly, the real Sting descends from the rafters into the cage. None of this makes any sense and it sort of feels like cocaine-induced booking, but it's effective.
September 28, 201312 yr comment_5565147 Bischoff’s comment about Vince having no will to win is so off. Piper and DDP end up being dressed up as fake stings. The cage drops and mayhem happens with some of the NWO including Bischoff are locked inside of cage. Show goes off the air too quickly to see any extended brawling.
May 18, 201411 yr comment_5603882 The cage lowering with Sting from the rafters was an iconic moment. Felt like they were building to a Wargames in a way but damn it was a cool moment.
September 13, 201411 yr comment_5624471 Third segment on the show with those three guys. More fake Sting that the announcer still can't identify on the first glance. Bischoff making a second McMahon reference, again a terrible idea when your show is clearly losing steam while the opposition is getting hotter. This whole angle is awkward, doesn't make sense and really doesn't accomplish anything. Nitro has been pretty bad two weeks in a row now. You can feel the peak has been reached a few months ago, and even the undercard doesn't look so good now.
February 29, 20169 yr comment_5729920 Hogan, Bischoff, and Savage are back out to kick off the second hour. Now they're threatening to imprison everyone in the building until DDP, Sting, and Piper show up. Again, the WCW team refuses to take the bait. Hogan is very good here at selling how flustered he is--rarely do you see heel Hogan directly address and insult the crowd the way he does here. Now we're at the close of the show, and the NWO are a bit more cocky, as Hogan disingenuously apologizes for overreacting earlier. Soon they're confronted by a Sting figure, only to get jumped by two other Stings from behind. One applies a sleeperhold and it's pretty clear who these two Stings are. The rest of the NWO is out as the cage lowers, but lowering with it is the real Sting. We go off the air with the NWO frantically trying to escape the cage. A closing angle by the numbers? Yeah, but damn, every Nitro should be held on the Gulf Coast, because this Biloxi crowd was going absolutely nuts. That can go a long, long way.
