Last few minutes. Owen is trying to get himself intentionally DQd and works over Austin's neck. Austin takes no bumps and wins the IC title.

Austin still wasn’t fully ready to return and this match is way behind their Summerlsam version. Stunner out of nowhere and Austin wins. The Canadian fans won't get an Owen win but at least Bret will walk out tonight with the title.

Owen works diligently to DQ'd. They really worked the match around Austin and he still wasn't ready to come back health wise. Surprised they ended up doing it at this show in hostile territory. Furnas and Lafon get some stunners in the post match.

Owen telling the timekeeper to ring the bell (to stop the match due to DQ) is really funny considering what happened later that night.

Owen tries to declare himself the loser by DQ and even rings the bell to emphasize his point, but the referee has none of it. Austin doesn't look completely terrible from what we see here, but this ends very suddenly without a lot of build. This seems like a fairly split crowd, for this match--Austin draws a pretty sizable pop for the win. Certainly isn't Calgary.

Owen's entrance is fun. I loved him stalling & showing off the Owen 3:16 shirt. He sends the Anvil in first who eats a stunner. Owen attacks Austin from behind & goes for the neck. This is really well laid out match with Owen teasing a pile driver early & trying to win any way he can. He tries to get counted out & later tries to get DQed by choking Austin with a production cord. He starts working over Austin's neck for a bit, then Austin makes a comeback. They do the tilt-a-whirl spot from Summerslam teasing another pile driver spot, but they land on their feet & Austin hits the stunner for the 1-2-3. I liked this. It's booked very well while also protecting Austin's health.
