Instead he's put up against Flair which is a feud you can do but the focus needed be on him against NWO. Bret makes the challenge against Hogan. Yes, that needed to happen within a few months of Hart's appearance.
July 8, 201411 yr comment_5611559 This was a great babyface promo by Bret and planted the seeds for perhaps a Starrcade 1998 encounter vs. Hogan. I'm not sure if they could have held off that long but even Superbrawl would have awesome. Bret needed to run the gauntlet vs. the NWO.

March 29, 20169 yr comment_5736001 I still hate Bret's music. Still, this is finally a good segment with him--he's put over big as WCW's savior, which finally adds some gravity to his jump. Crowd is still split, though. Big reactions for Bret rattling off the guys he wants to wrestle. Nice of him to throw Benoit in with the other main eventers. Bret then moves on to Hogan and brings up some undoubtedly real feelings when he accuses of Hulk of running away from him--HOW DID THESE TWO NEVER WRESTLE EACH OTHER??!!
