No Time Limit Steel Cage Match for the NWA World Tag Titles: Don Kernodle & Sgt. Slaughter © vs. Ricky Steamboat & Jay Youngblood (3/12/83)

The champs coming out to "Gonna Fly Now" the Rocky theme while wearing matching tracksuits is so fucking great. Sandy Scott is the special referee for the match as well. This is just an amazing match as everyone works their asses off here with all the emotion and hatred you want from a blood feud like this. The cage is used as a weapon like it should be and the blood pours out also like it should. The ebbs and flows here were fantastic with the selling and bumping being on the same level. Drama was off the charts going into the stretch run and when Slaughter jumped off the top of the cage and missed you knew the shift had went in the challengers favor. The challenges then looked unstoppable after that but the champs fought and fought to stay alive and they thought they had it after Slaughter hit Youngblood with a loaded Slaughter cannon but as he argued with Sandy Scott, Steamer turned Youngblood over on Kernodle to get the win. Fans rushed the cage pounding on it after the bell in appreciation as Piper, Weaver, & Nelson ran in to celebrate the victory in a great spectacle. This is easily a Top 5 match for this set and a contender for #1. Grand Slam nomination.
