It was a match-up that on paper had a lot of potential for hard hitting heavyweight action and it didn't disappoint. The general theme was that the smaller heavyweight Tyrone buzzed around Roach the way a fly might buzz around a lion's nose until Roach got so irritated that he'd swat the fly away. It was real smash mouth stuff combined with painful looking submissions, and when Roach unleashed his full strength and power on Tyrone the bumps seemed much nastier than usual. It didn't have the heat or the full on aggression of that great Rudge vs. Tyrone match, but it had a sort of smoldering intensity to it and it was a fantastic match for anyone who likes to see heavyweights go at it. Both guys sold injuries in the final rounds and when the bell rang for the sixth and final round there was a genuine excitement about the result. This was on the same bill as a Rudge/Singh match that's been nominated so it was a great night for this sort of action.
