The 2nd fall starts more of the same before Ortiz ignites his teammates and they take care of the Infernales quickly to even the odds. Infernales express their anger to Dr. Morales after the fall before going back for more and they start the 3rd fall back on top before Ortiz again kickstarts the tecnico comeback just pounding on Espectro then leads the tecs to victory with a Tapatia on Satanico. Fun match and I'm really digging Halcon Ortiz but this falls short of a nomination mainly because it's rudos dominating then the tecnicos coming back quickly to take 2 falls. Atlantis & Lizmark vs. El Egipcio & El Faraon (2/17/84) Egipcio & Faraon come out and attack the Infernales which is interesting and this is a fun little brawl as Faraon posts Satanico. Atlantis & Lizmark show up and they get their asses kicked trying to enter the ring. This is all action from the start with Lizmark flying around like crazy and Atlantis showing that he can hang with the vetecerans. Tecnicos took the 1st fall so the rudos came back for revenge and battered the tecnicos to even it up. Lizmark takes a beating here and they go for his mask but the tecs made a comeback focusing on Egipcio's left leg. The stretch run was fun as Atlantis & Egipcio took each other out and their partners pinned the other leaving Lizmark & Faraon in the ring to battle it out with some fun nearfalls before Faraon out of desperation knees Lizmark right in the balls for the DQ. Faraon then rips off Lizmark's mask before throwing him to the floor and his mask to the fans. This had a good bit of hatred and some really solid actiion and I think this is a fairly easy nomination. Hombre Bala/Cachorro Mendoza/Ultraman vs. Jerry Estrada/El Supremo/Talisman (2/24/84) Cachorro & Estrada brawl as soon as they enter the ring and have to be pulled apart. This starts off with Ultraman getting his ass kicked by the rudos especially Estrada both inside and outside the ring. The rest of the fall was everyone getting a chance to shine especially a young Hombre Bala who looked quite flashy. Estrada was bumping hard as hell here while Supremo & Talisman were holding their own. Bala doing a somersault bump from the apron to the floor because he had his neck snapped over the top rope was both unnecessary and great. All of the exchanges here were heated with Ultraman & Estrada having the best of the group. The stretch run was fun as everything led to Ultraman/Estrada ending up with Estrada making Ultraman submit with a Cloverleaf. Ultraman then demanded a mascara/caballera match afterwards. Damn fun match with lots of solid action and hatred thus making it a solid nomination to me. Guerrero Azteca/El Jalisco/Villano III vs. Maquina Salvaje/MS-1/Popitekus (2/24/84) VIVA EL POPI!!!!! and he looked AWESOME here like a real life giant version of Mr. Creepley from Laff-A-Lympics. I really dug the V-3/Popi section in the 1st fall with Popi taking a hard bump from the ring to the floor then V-3 chasing him the punch him in the mouth. Jalisco was fired up here as well as he had some beef with MS-1 and they were beating on each other. Popi & Maquina were working fun Three Stooges type hitting each other by mistake spots which ended up costing them the 1st fall. DAMN Popi was taking some great bumps to start the 2nd fall especially being thrown to the floor by Jalisco's feet. The rudos took the 2nd fall after big splashes from MS-1 & Popi with Popi basically just falling on V-3. The rudos continue their rampage in the 3rd fall before Jalisco fires up on MS-1 hitting a big windup uppercut which was great. The stretch run was nice as everyone was breaking up everyone else's attempts to win before a great dive train broke out with Villano hitting a big plancha off the top to the floor then Azteca & Jalisco following up with huge tope suicidas to win the match by countout. There was no flying the whole match until the end which was great and even though it was a screwy finish it was fun. This match had lots of fun action going on and Popi being awesome so of course I'm throwing this on the block. El Faraon/Herodes/Mocho Cota vs. Lizmark/Ringo Mendoza/Tony Salazar (2/24/84) These guys have been feuding with each other in various matches over the past few weeks now they are brought together here for a heated match. Everyone is just pounding on each other with the rudos being on the better end of the action and taking the 1st fall quickly then keeping their advantage going in the 2nd fall where they bloody up Salazar then attack the cut viciously. This is brutal here as Salazar is a crimson mask and these guys are relentlessly beating the fuck out of him. They eventually get DQed for excessive violence which evens it up for the tecnicos. The rudos now turn their attention to Lizmark while Herodes continues to destroy Salazar while Ringo seems to stay on the floor during most of this. Faraon fouls Lizmark behind the ref's back then Ringo gets sent back to the floor as Salazar comes back in for more punishment. Lizmark & Ringo finally power it up and they start giving the rudos a taste of their own medicine. Salazar even gets back going and starts biting at Herodes' head viciously and he brings out the juice as well while spraying the blood in the air. Ringo & Lizmark hit big planchas to the floor while the bloody Salazar beats the hell out of Herodes before stopping a Herodes foule and kicking him in the balls instead for the DQ. This was fucking awesome and a slam dunk nomination.
