We get some really great matwork to start with both men working in and out of holds. Estrada gets the early advantage by stretching Ultraman to take a highly competitive 1st fall. Estrada works over Ultraman's arm in the 2nd fall which he started on in the 1st fall but Ultraman fights back slamming him hard on the mat then putting him in a neck crank to make him submit. Ultraman works over Estrada's neck to start the 3rd fall and the heat started to pick up here as Estrada sent Ultraman to the floor then absolutely crushed him with a tope suicida right in the seats. Ultraman though comes back sending Estrada to the other side of the ring and hits him with a tope that he almost missed. Ultraman's right arm is now basically limp and Estrada just wrenches it over his shoulder numerous times and Roberto Rangel calls the doctor to come into the ring to check him out. They decided to stop the match and Estrada is awarded the victory and the title which he celebrates happily. This was a total battle with both men taking it to each other and while the ending wasn't the best it didn't feel cheap as the armwork was there to support it. This is a fairly easy nomination to me.
August 13, 201312 yr comment_5556043 Really sweet matwork to start off. Not in a 90s NJ way but in a Fujinami-Choshu everything measn something way. Badass. I love how Estrada hooks the arm only for Ultraman to escape every time. Man, what loked like a botched sweep turns into a sweet submission for Estrada. The first caida was sweet. No complaints. 2nd fall, dueling over leg locks and Estrada finally gains control of the arm. It finally looks to be paying off. Ultraman has to get even more elaborate to escape which pays off because it leads to a spinebuster into a submission for the 2nd round victory. Loving this match 2 rounds in. Great selling by both guys throughout the match. Shaking the arm. Limping on the leg. Selling the neck like crazy by Estrada in the third fall. Great, great stuff. Estrada is fucking great in this. A spill by Ultraman leads to a wild suicide dive. This is followed by an out of control Ultraman dive that ends up as a flying clothesline. When they get back I nthe ring, Estrada attacks the arm again including a jumping knee while hooking the armbar. The refs stop the match and Estrada wins. I thought the finish was great. Estrada focused on the arm the whole match and it pays off in the end. EASY NOMINATION.
August 14, 201312 yr comment_5556283 I really liked the finish too, really weird to see Estrada work this kind of technical match as I am used to him as a crazy drugged out brawler, he did a nice job and I really liked the focus of the match. Not a transcendent title match, but a cool discovery
