Posted July 31, 201312 yr comment_5554250 Atlantis/Cachorro Mendoza/Samurai Shiro vs. MS-1/Talisman/Terror Chicano (9/14/84) A little bit JIP here. Lots of brawling to start here with everyone attacking each other before the rudos take the 1st fall. Shiro had a fun little slapfest with MS-1 before he got sent to the floor. 2nd fall saw the tecs fight back and it was great to see Shiro hit some ASS BASED OFFENSE on MS-1. Cachorro gets the pin on Terror to even up the falls. Atlantis hit some nice Quebradoras on Talisman to start the 3rd fall which saw some nice back and forth action but nothing spectacular. Talisman would get pissed at Atlantis and ripped his mask completely off for the DQ. A great thing happened at the end as a child gave Atlantis the shirt off his back to cover up his face which was awesome. This was a fine undercard style match but not a nomination. Cien Caras/El Egipcio/Sangre Chicana vs. Mascara Ano Dos Mil/Rayo de Jalisco Jr./Tony Salazar (9/14/84) Sangre Chicana brawls with MS-1 before the match as MS-1 was leaving as their big hair match was coming up. Cien rips up Rayo's mask as soon as he gets in the ring and yes this feud is STILL going on today. The 1st fall ends quickly as everyone is brawling on the floor and Chicana punts MA2K in the balls with Roberto Rangel calling for the DQ. Cien has gotten his mask ripped in the process as well and he is pissed at Chicana for fouling his brother so Egipcio has to keep the peace. The rudos get it back together and go back to working over their opponents before Rayo & Salazar make comebacks and Chicana accidentally hitting Cien sending him to the floor. MA2K then comes back in the ring and pays back Chicana by kicking him in the balls for a DQ. Cien & Rayo go to battle to start the 3rd fall before it ends quickly with Rayo making Cien submit to an abdominal stretch and Salazar pinning Egipcio. This had some heated action but wasn't very good overall. NWA Middleweight Title: Gran Cochise © vs. Satanico (9/14/84) What else can be said about this one as it's one of the greatest matches of the decade in Mexico and the world in general. This isn't a bloodbath or a violent hate filled brawl but what it is is two guys who have a classic wrestling match trying to see who is the better man by using their skills. The match had an All-Japan epic feel by the end where the crowd didn't give a shit who won really because they were watching greatness and both were winners. Satanico showed here why he was one of the greatest of his era and Cochise maybe looked even better here and definitely made me wish we had more of him in big singles matches. This won't be my #1 probably but I don't think there is any way it won't be in my Top 5. Caballera contra Caballera; Ringo Mendoza vs. Tony Benetto (9/14/84) Benetto of course is Gran Markus Jr. working as a fake Italiano and he dominates Ringo to take the 1st fall as Ringo got nothing. The mauling continues in the 2nd fall as Tony methodically takes shots at Ringo while playing up to the crowd. Ringo would finally make a comeback and would make Tony submit to take the 2nd fall. The fans were kind of souring on the match in the 3rd fall as every time someone would kick out of a pin they would boo as they wanted it over. That isn't saying the match wasn't good but this was totally not your normal hair match violence. Tony would miss a big dive off the top and Ringo would make him submit which got the fans going nuts since it was over. Tony gets shaved bald and goes to the floor where the fans start fleeing in droves. This was decent at best but bad for a hair match.
