Posted August 7, 201312 yr comment_5555222 Sangre Chicana vs. Satanico (5/26/89) There is a handshake before the match which is nice. The 1st fall is a back and forth battle with each guy throwing strikes at each other before Chicana got the edge and submitted Satanico to take the fall. Sangre takes a cheapshot at Satanico between falls which pisses him off and he comes back in the ring firing shots and made him submit to even the falls. This is starting to turn into a slugfest with Chicana throwing bombs on the floor and Satanico following up by biting at his head then they go from brawling in the ring to brawling in the fans and while it's slow and methodical it is violent as hell. The referee finally has enough and rules the match a DDQ as they won't quit fighting on the floor. Total slugfest and a fairly easy nomination to me.
August 13, 201312 yr comment_5556025 First fall, Satanico is getting over zealous with the choking so Chicana fires back with some punches I know Phil would mark out for. After a stomach breaker, Chicana forces Satanico to submit and fight another fall instead of inflicting damage. 2nd fall, starts with Chicana punching Satanico in the face, keeping him from entering the ring. When he does enter, he starts biting Chicana's forehead. They start sluggin away at each other until Satanico gets Chicana on the floor with some knee lifts and finishes it with a standing leglock. Damn, Chicana's punches are sweet. 3rd fall, straight up brawl until they finally get in the ring. Chicana goes back to the submission that he won the first fall with but Satanico counters and breaks by trying to dig Chicana's eyeball out of his head! That was fucking nuts. More brawling outside and when they return, Satanico tries the ab stretch that Chicana made him submit with earlier. The slugfest nature of the match makes it an easy yes for me but I don't think this match will rank very high in the grand scheme of things. Interested to see Phil's thoughts on the match.
August 13, 201312 yr comment_5556157 I fucking loved this. I thought this was an all time classic brawl, it felt like Lawler v. Mantell or Finlay v. Regal. I love the way Chicana can throw with both hands and he had some sick combos. Lots of nasty little moments like Satanico trying to dig out Chicana's eye. I liked the semi riot aspect of the crowd brawling too. One of my favorite discoveries of the last couple of years. There are a lot of unbelievable brawls on this set, but this feels on the level of the best of them
