There was a battle at the start but the RPM's sent the heels scurrying to the floor. Embry's head is bandaged from the earlier match but it gets ripped off and the cut gets reopened of course with the RPM's working it over. Embry gets a neutralizer in this as he kicked Davis right in the balls. Davis is now in peril and gets worked over by Crusher then Embry before he makes a comeback trying to work his way over to tag Lane. Embry would pull Davis to the floor where he crashed into Richter and Davis is back in peril again. Embry would lock on a figure-four which Davis would reverse as the crowd is going nuts but Crusher would come in to neutralize him until a double collision would give Davis the chance to make the hot tag to Lane and the 4-way brawl was on. Embry's bloodied head faces the wrath of Lane as Davis & Crusher go at it but Embry makes his own comeback and hits a piledriver on Lane for a nearfall as Lane got the ropes. Davis then sees this and makes the switch behind the ref's back and he would get Embry in an inside cradle to win the match as the coliseum erupts. The heels would jump the faces afterwards and beat the hell out of them even getting a spike piledriver on Richter. This was a very good match and the solid performance by the RPM's puts this over the top as a fairly solid nomination.
November 24, 201311 yr comment_5573893 Excellent match. I am a mark for a well worked Southern tag and that's exactly what this was. I have actually be very impressed with the RPM's in the PR footage as they had a real organic connection to the crowd, and there selling was excellent, which is really what you need for a match like this to work. The opening shine was well done, and I thought it was smart that they opened up Embry's cut early, because it gave the faces hope spots throughout an extra dimension to them. Embry himself was excellent at getting this over, as he would sell his head after his headbutts, inevitably leading to a great tease "race" to the tag between him and the RPM. Embry also busted out some great offense in this, from the aforementioned falling headbutts, to great leaping punches and flying clotheslines. There were so many good hope spots and near tag spots in this it would impossible to document them all, but they were all extremely well worked and milked for maximum effect. The spot with Crusher chocking Davis, while Embry locked on the figure-four was awesome and Embry getting the desperation tag while the hold was reversed was an excellent visual. I also loved Embry's big bump on the reverse crossbody and the desperation piledriver was a great spot. I kind of felt like the switcharoo finish - while really smart and a good way to protect the impact of the piledriver - should have seen one kick out, before getting beat on a second roll up, but that's about as nitpicky as nitpicky gets. The place exploded for the finish and the Post-match here was also tremendous with the heels laying out the faces, spike piledriving Lane and Richter and burying them in ripped up roses that were supposed to go to the victors of the match. Easy nomination. On first watch this felt like a sleeper top five contender.
