Posted October 12, 201312 yr comment_5567092 This featured an incredible performance from underneath by Buddy. Tony Borne had an awesome look at his point, like an old man who had just stumbled out of a logger bar or something. And his offense was really basic, mostly punches to the head and gut. Buddy made those punches look like a million bucks by selling, stalling, getting himself hung in the ropes and showcasing his full array of bumps. He had the crowd on the hook by the time Tony hit his finisher off the top. Buddy got his foot on the rope and then suckered Borne to the outside, where he busted him open on the ringpost. Then we got Buddy working the cut and pulling Borne up on two after a signature backbreaker and again after a nasty knee drop. Finally, Matt Borne ran in to save his dad as the time limit approached. Buddy apparently lost by DQ, though I'm not sure why. Regardless, this was an excellent one-fall match and a perfect depiction of why we lavish so much praise on Buddy Rose. New Portland Disc 11
