Miguel dominated early but Ninja took over and tried to take the battle to the crowd but that backfired and Miguelito threw him on the ringside table then slammed him on the floor. Once the battle got back to the ring though Ninja took over using nerve holds and the like to neutralize Miguelito before he would make a fiery comeback. Miguel would then hit a fuckin sweet German Suplex hold on Ninja out of nowhere to win the match and then shaved Ninja's head himself. Very fun match and I think this is a fairly easy nomination.
November 24, 201311 yr comment_5573882 The only possible argument I could see against this is that it was awfully short for such a high stakes match (I didn't time it, but probably about 7:30 bell-to-bell). Beyond that this was pretty great. The crowd is absolutely molten for this which helps it to be sure, but the work was also rock solid. Muta can be really boring when he wants to be, but he was quite the opposite here, with some awesome selling and facial expressions. His reaction to the low blow escape from the nervehold was especially great. This match also benefited from a couple of incredible near falls, as the Muta O'Connor roll looked awesome and believable as a potential finish, and his kickout on the great Perez powerslam was a pretty big holy shit moment, made even better by the fact that it led right to the flash German finish. For sprints of this sort, this would be in the upper tier. Solid nomination.
