Posted October 27, 201312 yr comment_5569058 I'll give this a low-end nomination. We get The Sarge stalling early whipping the crowd into a frenzy. He sees an opportunity and tries to pearl harbor Patterson but misses and gets tied up in the ropes for his trouble. So Patterson beats on him for a bit. Slaughter takes some nice bumps throughout. Eventually Slaughter creates some seperation. Then he plays hide the foreign object. This was a fun little section. This pays off with Slaughter nailing Patterson to the outside. The ref keeps Slaughter from attacking Patterson on the floor. Eventually he gets down there and smashes Patterson head against a t.v monitor. We get back in and we transition to Patterson working over Slaughter's leg. He even destroys his crown jewels on the post. Slaughter hits the ref while in the fig 4
June 5, 2025Jun 5 comment_6030775 SGT. SLAUGHTER vs PAT PATTERSON (04/18/1981; WWF Philadelphia Spectrum; 00:23:14) - Slaughter runs away from Pat to start. This goes on for a few minutes until Sarge gets caught with a punch and tangled in the ropes. Pat keeps tagging him until the ref breaks it up. Sarge doing the big bump into the ring post. Patterson pulls Sarge to the corner and crotches him. Sarge is just getting beat. Pat hooks a Boston Crab but Sarge reaches the ropes. Sarge pulls out a foreign object and loads the elbow pad. He hits Pat and sends him to the outside. LOUD “Gomer” chant. Pat cant get back in the ring but Sarge goes outside and busts him on the table outside. Sarge backbreaker gets 2. Cobra clutch gets hooked but Pat keeps alive. Pat reaches the ropes. Sarge sets up for a top rope leap but misses. Pat hooks in the figure 4. Sarge hits the ref. The ref tells Pat to let go but he refuses. The ref raises Pat’s hand but it’s a DQ. Pat thought Sarge gave up. This is a SOLID nomination but I wanted blood. I will get it soon enough in the boot camp matches.
