This is a good match with a pair of the best that the WWF has to offer. We open up with a Pearl Harbor job by the Hammer. Sarge quickly recovers and comes back with his belt wrapped up around his fist. Valentine gets knocked out to the floor. Sarge slams his head against the apron. Back in the ring Sarge throws a big fore arm smash, and follows it up with a nice elbow smash. Slaughter takes a big bump and posts his arm into the corner. Valentine is a shark here. He climbs to the top and nails a nasty knee trying to seperate his shoulder. So Valentine works the arm. He works a nasty hammerlock and actually uses it while pinning Sarge. Valentine grape vines the leg and falls away. Again trying to seperate the shoulder. Sarge begins his comeback and does a flying knee drop from the top.....and misses. Sarge is selling the knee big. Valentine goes after the leg. Valentine drops a sick knee drop to the back of Sarge's leg. Slaughter goes for a slam, but his leg can't hold the weight. Nice hope spot with a small package. Slaughter gets Valentine in the Cobra Clutch. Valentine pulls the ref for the DQ. A good match that deserves a low end nomination. My main complaint was that I thought Valentine took to much of the match.

SGT. SLAUGHTER vs GREG VALENTINE (07/28/1984; WWF Capital Centre; 00:16:31)
MIDDLE NOMINATION. Solid start as both guys try to gain control with big forearms. Hammer takes over delivering nasty punishment to Sarge's arm. Sarge has a short lived comeback fighting with one arm. He goes to the top, misses from the top and hurts his leg. Greg smells blood and attacks the leg. Awesome. Sarge hits a desperation cannon and attempts the figure four. Valentine throws the ref and gets DQed. This was just heating up when the finish came.
