Posted November 8, 201311 yr comment_5571454 This may end of being a dumb question. But has anyone left WWF / E for WCW only to become a bigger star. I ask this because I can list many going from WCW to the E. Undertaker, Austin HHH and many more. But I cant think of any the other way. And by star I mean was a mid card / jobber to become a top guy. The only one comes. To mind is Rude maybe.
November 8, 201311 yr comment_5571463 Jeff Jarrett. He was never in the main event in the WWF and he was a 4 time WCW World champ. I don't know how much people were really into him, but he definitely moved way up the card.
November 8, 201311 yr comment_5571480 Kevin Nash. Even though he held the WWF title for a year, I would say he became a bigger star upon his return to WCW and the nWo angle. Scott Hall as well. Ricky Steamboat is arguable as you could argue he was a bigger "star" as WWF IC Champ than he was as NWA World Champ. He certainly became a bigger star upon his return to WCW in late 1991 though than he was as "the Dragon".
November 8, 201311 yr comment_5571482 Don't know if this counts because he went from WCW to the WWF and then back to WCW again but Scott Steiner...
November 8, 201311 yr comment_5571484 Lex Luger was doing nothing from mid 1994 to the end of his WWF run, so if it fits the criteria he was booked as a bigger star in WCW upon his return.
November 8, 201311 yr comment_5571487 Jim Duggan never won gold in WWF but held the US and TV titles in WCW! Whether or not he was a bigger star there though is debatable, I'd say he probably wasn't.
November 8, 201311 yr comment_5571496 Reckon you could make some sort of argument that Hogan in 96 was bigger than Hogan in 93.
November 8, 201311 yr comment_5571497 Jim Duggan never won gold in WWF but held the US and TV titles in WCW! Whether or not he was a bigger star there though is debatable, I'd say he probably wasn't. He never won any gold in WWF, but he got to #71 in the UK Singles charts with the masterpiece "USA" in 1993. He never achieved musical success like that again.
November 8, 201311 yr comment_5571499 How much prestiege should one attach to being "King" of the WWF? Was it more prestigous, for example, than being European Champion would be down the line? Was it on par with being TV champ in NWA / WCW or less than that? Did Savage elevate the "kingship"?
November 8, 201311 yr comment_5571500 You have to remember back then that there were less titles and they changed much less frequently. I think the big coronations were more than a European champion ever got. That said, it's probably less than being TV champ since that was defended so frequently. Getting the King mantle was almost like winning a gimmick. It still meant more than the Million Dollar Belt since that basically only changed hands once.

November 8, 201311 yr comment_5571509 Dustin Rhodes. Only in WWF briefly in 90-91 to play a role in Dusty's angle with DiBiase. Much bigger star after going to WCW and getting pushed. Then an even bigger star when he went back to WWF.
November 8, 201311 yr comment_5571511 Paul Roma went from tag teams with Jim Powers and Hercules to tag teams with Arn Anderson and Paul Orndorff, both of which won tag titles. However, WCW during much of that time was in the pits perception-wise, so I'm not sure if that makes him a bigger star in a pushed capacity than he was in the WWF as a JTTS.
November 8, 201311 yr comment_5571560 Does Cactus Jack count? He only jobbed in WWF but still fits the bill as a guy who worked there and went to WCW and had some success. Obviously he came back and became a "star" but still. I'd put Barry Windham in that category too, was a flop but arguably a bigger star in WCW than he was previously in WWF.
November 8, 201311 yr Author comment_5571625 Barry Windham?I would think so. When I think of him its only wcw nwa
November 9, 201311 yr comment_5571724 Jonny Polo (via ECW) to Raven in WCW. That's a massive stretch. He got over in ECW. He was in WCW as Johnny Flamingo before he went to WWF.
November 9, 201311 yr comment_5571725 What about the nasty boys were they in wcw first Yes. They went from WCW -> WWF -> WCW in a relatively short time
