Posted November 13, 201311 yr comment_5572342 Really fun sprint here. Say what you want about Kendo and Pogo as workers they were red hot as heels in these studio matches. This had a hell of a pace too it and really all four guys looked solid throwing shots, running through pretty fiery exchanges, et. I continue to be more impressed by Pogo than I should be, as he actual works like you would expect a "martial arts" gimmick to work and not...well...the Mr. Pogo I'm used to from the garbage feds. One of the Youngbloods killed someone with a pump kick in this and I actually loved the finish as you had a pretty believable ref bump, you think the match is getting tossed out and then this turns into a battle for the kendo stick as the crowd goes nuts with the faces eventually able to "steal" one by out heeling the heels. This is probably five minutes long, but I actually liked this better than some of the matches already nominated (Kansas Jayhawks Dog Collar Match for example), so I am going to put it on the dock.
November 13, 201311 yr comment_5572378 The Renegade Warriors (Chris & Mark Youngblood) vs. Kendo Nagasaki & Mr. Pogo (February 1988) Pretty decent pace to start the match with both teams taking turns working each other over getting offense in before it breaks down into a 4-way brawl featuring a ref bump and Kendo accidentally hitting Pogo with the kendo stick allowing Mark to cover him for the win. This was pretty fun although too short for a nomination to me.
January 1, 201411 yr comment_5578153 This was an awesome super sprint. It's maybe a little over four minutes but I thought it was great. The main portion of the match is just Nagasaki and Pogo hitting awesome kicks and overhand chops while the Youngbloods fight back with knife edge chops but it's awesome. This eventually breaks down into a wild brawl and the crowd starts to go nuts. Then Nagasaki gets out a kendo stick after a ref bump and we get this incredible tug of war for it while the building is shaking. Nagasaki wins but hits Pogo instead after the Youngblood being held ducks. The fans make the building shake some more and we get one last fun tug of war before the pinfall for the faces. This was absurdly fun. I'm giving this a LOW END nomination.
