Posted November 13, 201311 yr comment_5572405 Later Portland has been just as dreadful as I remembered, with promising match listings producing little more than rushed-through shit. So there's a one-eyed-man quality to this as a nomination. But it was pretty good, with the babyfaces working some nifty armdrag spots as they outmaneuvered fat Buddy in the early moments. Two Eagles ended up in peril, and Madrill, especially, laid in some nasty shots. I liked Two Eagles' wild one-armed takedowns as he tried to fight out of the heel corner. He finally made the hot tag to Barr, who showed the requisite fire before DeBeers and Madrill (I think it was Madrill) cut him down with a double clothesline while Sandy Barr was distracted. This paled in comparison to the stuff from early in the decade. But it featured a fun assortment of wrestlers, moved along at a good clip and featured a few memorable sequences. So I'll throw it up for low-level consideration. New Portland Disc 56

DeBeers/Buddy Rose/Al Madrill vs. Scott Peterson/Art Barr/Billy Two Eagles (New Portland 56) - This was fun and spirited especially when the babyfaces were getting the best of the heels. Art Barr really seemed up for this match. However, this was a 6 man that really needed two more falls. This was like the first act of a 3 act play. No vote.
