Posted November 15, 201312 yr comment_5572740 Some fun nonsense to start, with Buddy and Avalanche batting beach balls during the Rockers' entrance and the Rockers bringing a little kid into the ring for a pose down with Buddy. Rockers opened with their usual stick-and-move shine. Beach Boys eventually cut Peterson off and worked a strong control section, focusing on his back. Avalanche was surprisingly useful with a vicious powerslam, and Buddy earned a believable nearfall with his backbreaker. Peterson eventually punched his way out of an Avalanche bear hug and floored the big man with a wild running lariat. That set up the hot tag to Doll, who came in throwing dropkicks. Buddy held the ropes to stop his momentum, leaving Peterson to crash on one of the dropkicks. Buddy followed up quickly with a piledriver. Sandy Barr refused to count right away for some reason. Asshole. Peterson ran in to break up another pin attempt on Doll and rolled out of the ring with Buddy. Avalanche used the opening to hit a huge top-rope splash on Doll. Now, Barr was staring right at this and knew Avalanche didn't tag Buddy. But for some reason, he counted the fall. Only he changed his mind when Billy Two Eagles ran in to explain the situation. Just a garbage finish of a kind they used all too often at this stage of the promotion. Sandy Barr was the fucking worst -- a theoretically babyface ref who applied justice in capricious fashion, bungled obvious calls, favored his kids during their matches and generally got involved way too fucking much. DeBeers had him up for a piledriver during a subsequent match, and I seriously wanted the good colonel to break his damn neck. Anyway, the match was super fun until the end, so I won't throw the baby out with the bath water. Nomination. New Portland Disc 58
