Steve Doll had been out several times during the show to say Scott Peterson never made it to the arena. Two Eagles was set to substitute, but Peterson showed up in torn clothes with bruise make-up on his face, claiming that Avalanche and Golden had attacked him on the side of the road. He insisted on fighting, of course, and they started out with some wild, four-way brawling. Doll briefly took the advantage, but Avalanche planted a knee in his back as he ran the ropes. That led to some solid working over of Doll. He showed fire in punching his way out and making the hot tag to Peterson. But Peterson's rally didn't last long. Golden laid him over the middle rope and Avalanche splashed his back from the top in a really nasty looking spot. That ended the first fall. Doll came out alone to start the second and tried to hold his own against both heels. Peterson appeared and sold that he could barely get on the apron much less fight. Doll gamely teased a few rallies as Avalanche and Golden attacked his back, but he succumbed to an Avalanche splash, and the Rockers lost the tag belts. This might have been even better had the Rockers mounted a more significant rally and perhaps taken a quick second fall. But they did a good job executing the whole angle around the match, and some of the Golden/Avalanche offense looked pretty devastating. Solid nomination.
