Posted November 18, 201311 yr comment_5573111 I think I'm just way higher on Jason than Kris is, because I really didn't see him as being lazy or underperforming in this match. You could argue that his offense could have been more inspired I guess, but the way the match was laid out, the pacing and delivery of his offense was set up specifically for Invader III hope spots. Really Invader took most of this on offense and I thought they played it up well with him trying to chop down the tree by attacking his leg. The work was simple but looked good as he was really laying it in, including a very tight looking crab. Jason came back with the mask, but again this set up some good hope and cut off spots like the sit out on the sunset flip, the really neat monkey flip reversal of the chokeslam and the big airball bump off the top from Jason. I also thought they did a good job making you think Invader might steal one, only to get shut down when Jason was able to hit the second headbutt off the top. Not a lock for the set or anything, but I could see this on the set.
November 18, 201311 yr comment_5573144 Jason the Terrible vs. Invader III (December 1988) Invader worked pretty hard here. Jason not so much that's all there is to this. I just didn't like this a whole lot so no on a nomination.
December 19, 201311 yr comment_5576608 I liked this enough for a nomination. Jason's offense was lacking but he sold his leg really well and the whole match was built around either Invader on offense or Invader hope spots. I really liked the first half with Invader hitting Jason high but nothing being effective so he goes to the leg and it works perfectly. The crab he put on was really snug too. I also liked Invader sort of getting a payback spot by attempting to rip off Jason's mask after Jason went for his earlier in the match. The monkey flip counter from a chokeslam was awesome and Invader's wacky pin attempt ruled. Jason's bump off the missed headbutt was great too. I liked Invader just bouncing off of Jason on the attempted roll up that set up the finish. It was weird looking but in a good way. Jason hits his top rope headbutt to win. There was lack in execution at times move wise but the timing was good and the story of the match was really good. LOW END nomination.
