There are a few releases that are still out there that you guys may be able to get. I'll look at what's been identified as Youtube in the nominated matches folder and identify what the source tape is and if its available. There's already some listings in the List of WWC DVD/Tape Releases thread of discs that I've seen listed somewhere on the web. Also, for some of the matches in the Match Date Master List I've identified the release they are on.

I'll try contacting one of the Youtube channel guys tomorrow (the guy known as Havoc). From what I've read, this one lives in Ponce and has actually put stuff together for other people before (someone had posted that Missy Hyatt was looking for some of Eddie Gilbert's run from down here and Havoc posted that he could put something together for her). Hopefully this will yield something.

I also may have found a way to try to contact the other Youtube guy, but I'll have to register to the PRwrestling.com forum and then see if the guy is still checking his account there (I don't think he's posted there in a year). From the posts he made at the site, he was not living in Puerto Rico at the time (likely in the States but not sure). He also mentioned that he had more stuff he hadn't posted on Youtube, particularly IWA stuff (which is not 80's but I don't know if you guys are interested in whatever can be dug up that could be used for other projects).

Since this is basically my first foray into tape trading/buying, do you guys have any advice on how I should approach the contact? And should I go with buying or trading as the option (or mention both possibilities)? From what I've seen these guys write on the Youtube channels, they do understand and write in English but it might be better for a local to try to contact them first. Speaking of which, is there a way to contact a Youtube account owner via some PM on their system? I don't have a Youtube account, so I'm in the dark about this detail. But that might be a way to try to reach them if the e-mail/forum PM method doesn't yield a result.

Another possibility I could try is see if the WWC offices are still selling any of the DVD compilations they put out during the past eight years. In particular, the Carlos Colon one would be needed since that has quite a few matches that are only available on that release.

Boricua... look through the matches that Dylan posted as youtube exclusive and see which ones we can get through commercial means first.

Then, contact the PR guys and tell them you are willing to buy or trade. I will be happy to give you my DVD list as trade bait if need be. If you need cash, I will be happy to paypal you as long as the price is reasonable.

I'll have some downtime this week due to Thanksgiving, so I'll get to identifying which matches can be gotten through commercial means. What would be more helpful to you, to identify in each match thread where it's from or compile one list and put it in this thread?

Following up on the matches designated as Youtube in the nominations folder.

From the Carlos Colon DVD (have not seen it listed anywhere yet, may have to try to find locally):

Hercules Ayala v. Carlos Colon - Loser Leaves Town Match 1/6/89

Steve Strong v. Carlos Colon - NO DQ 1989

Carlos Colon v. TNT - 11/27/86

Carlos Colon/The Invaders v. Chicky Starr/Ron Starr/Abdullah The Butcher

Abdullah The Butcher v. Carlos Colon

From the Invader DVD (likely the one on Goodhelmet’s list. I’ve seen this listed at RudoReels, WrestleTapes and may be the one listed on Romdam’s site):

Ron Starr v. Invader 1 - Street Fight 1986

The Invader v. Al Perez - Street Fight

The Invader v. Eric Embry

I suspect this one is also on the Invader release:

The Invader v. Bruiser Brody

From Aniversario 88 – Hot night in Bayamon release (on Goodhelmet's list):

Ricky Santana v. Mr. Pogo - 9/10/88

Ron Garvin v. Iron Sheik - 9/10/88

Chicky Starr vs. Invader III, Aniversario 9/10/88

Los Pastores v. The Batten Twins

Miguel Perez Jr/Huracan Castillo Jr v. Kansas Jayhawks - Hair v Hair

The Hercules Ayala vs. Carlos Colon (Fire Match) is on WWC #82, but may be more complete here (don’t know if the version on WWC 82 is clipped).

On Bloody Bloody Matches of the Caribbean #2 release, but ending cut off from disc (must find one that has the complete match):

Carlos Colon v. Jason The Terrible - Barbed Wire Match 1989

I think this one is on the Bloody Bloody Matches of the Caribbean #2 release:

Ricky Santana v. Bobby Jaggers - Bull Rope Match 10/8/88

I think this one is on the Abdullah the Butcher disc:

Abdullah The Butcher v. Carlos Colon

No idea where this one is from:

Super Black Ninja (Great Muta) vs. Invader #1 Cage Match

Do not appear to be on a commercial release (from unspecified TV airings):

Invaders 1 & 3 vs. The Sheepherders - New Zealand Militia Boot Camp Match, Aniversario 86 9/20/86

Bronca Boricua (Puerto Rican Brawl), Fall? of 89

TNT v. Original TNT

Carlos Colon v. Leo Burke - 12/89

Invader/Bruiser Brody v. TNT/Hercules Ayala

The Invader v. Hercules Ayala

Ricky Santana v. Bobby Jaggers - Texas Death Match 1988

Super Black Ninja/El Profe v. Miguel Perez Jr./Huracan Castillo Jr.

Carlos Colon v. Abudda Dein

TNT v. Rip Rogers

Miguel Perez Jr. v. Bob Hefferman

From what appears to be a recording of the Aniversario 89 PPV broadcast:

Invader 3 v. Manny Fernandez – 1989

Carlos Colon v. Steve Strong - Barbed Wire Match

This show likely features the following matches:

Miguel Perez, Jr. and Huracan Castillo vs. Cuban Assassin and Jerry Morrow - Caribbean Tag Team Championship

Super Medico vs. El Gran Mendoza – Junior title match

Invader #3 vs. Manny Fernandez

Jimmy Valiant vs. Kareem Muhammad

Kevin Von Erich vs. Ron Bass

Chris and Mark Youngblood vs. Rip Rogers and Abudda Dein - World Tag Team Championship

TNT vs. Chicky Starr in a "Gimmick vs. hair" 5 minute challenge

Invader #1 vs. Ivan Koloff - "Russian chain" match for the WWC Puerto Rico Heavyweight Championship

Carlos Colón vs. Steve Strong - Barbed wire match for the WWC Universal Championship

Hi everyone. I'm still working to see if I can find anything locally. In the meantime, I came across someone locally who was selling their WWC collection. Since it was at a good price, I bought it for myself. There's nothing new in there, but I now have 47 discs of stuff you guys have looked at. If it's alright, I'll be posting some context and/thoughts about the discs in their respective threads as I watch them. So far, I've been able to narrow down dates for a couple of matches, including the first Colon vs. Hansen match in their 86-87 feud. I'll keep working on my end to see if anything new turns up.

With the news that WWE is buying the WWC tape library, it would be ideal if someone could grab the WWC stuff off of Youtube in case it is taken down. I'll try contacting Havoc to see if he's amenable to allowing access to his tapes.

That still leaves pending what Khawk's acquired and cataloging, the stuff Romdam has listed, the discs Pantherwagner has graciously offered to rip when he is able to get access to them, and whatever else can be scrounged up.
