Posted November 27, 201311 yr comment_5574386 I'm really only nominating this for historic significance, as this drew an overflow crowd to see Abby get completely decimated by Colon. I am a guy who can be a fan of a well worked competitive squash. I also like extended squashes more than most. But this was a 20 minute squash match that was unlike anything I've ever seen in a major match setting. I'm not sure Abby strung together more than three consecutive offensive moves in the entire match. You expect lots of blood and stabbings and there is a ton of that, but what made this even nuttier was the fact that Colon was throwing these brutal as fuck looking punches right to the eyes of Abby, fish hooking him, et. This is the most one sided feature match I've ever seen and was a complete mugging that ended with Abby getting chased to the back and Colon being carried around the in field of a baseball stadium like he just hit a walk off home run in game seven on the World Series. I would like Boricua's thoughts on whether or not this should be included as a match or an EXTRA

The immediate context is this: Carlos Colón, The Invaders vs. Abdullah The Butcher, Chicky Starr and Ron Starr It's the ammonia angle, leading to Carlos being blinded and the Universal title being vacated due to his loss of vision. Carlos would eventually regain his sight and the grudge match to end all grudge matches was signed. The card was called Vengeance in the Afternoon. This is that match. This is Carlos Colon coming back six weeks after having ammonia thrown into his face, after having been blinded and fearing that his career was over. It's Carlos Colon unleashing his vengeance on Abdullah for blinding him. I'll see if i can do a match write-up this weekend (I also stlll need to finish Invader vs. Chicky from Aniversario 87). The cage match against Chicky is Carlos exacting his vengeance on Chicky for his role in the blinding incident (he was Abdullah's manager and had been gloating about the plan and what happened). About a week or so after this, Carlos would be wrestling Brody and Chicky would interfere. This would lead to a chain match between Carlos and Chicky.
