Posted November 27, 201311 yr comment_5574443 This has to be the best Abudda Dein match of all time. This is also a rare non-stadium match from Colon that is on tape, though they are in a pretty packed building. This is a total blast, and while kind of sloppy at points, is still a really solid match that is surprising in a lot of ways. This was a period where Colon was really giving to the heels, because he had to work over time to get them over as credible, and he gave Dein a ton of this. Dein opened up aggressive on offense, though Colon fired back and we got the fun floor brawling staple of WWC with Dein getting slammed on a huge stack of wood (?) and busted open with a posting. Back in the ring he took over with the foreign object stuff which I love. I also thought it was hilarious that Colon was hitting Dein with the ring bell to no concern from the ref, but the ref was freaking out trying to search Dein as he stabbed at Colon. Dein actually bust out a variety of decent looking offensive spots, Colon hits a crossbody hope spot that was awesome and then the Colon comeback is triggered by Dein eating the knees of Colon on a Vader Bomb attempt. Colon's hulk up was maybe a bit "too much" in terms of blowing off the damage, but he ended up winning on a backslide of all things, so it was hardly a "fuck you, I'm superior" finishing run. This would be a welcome edition to the set if we can find it on a disc.
May 13, 20169 yr comment_5752547 Universal Heavyweight Title: Carlos Colon © vs. Abudadein (3/11/89) Abudadein jumps Colon at the bell and he takes the battle to Colon throwing him around on the floor but Colon would throw Abudadein into the table then bashed him with the ring bell before throwing him on some boards in front of the fans who are going apeshit as Abudadein is gushing blood. Colon looks like a damn killer here throwing Abudadein into the ringpost. Abudadein though would use a gimmick to turn the tide on Colon and he had Colon reeling but Carlos would get a nearfall on a cross body block. Abudadein continues his hide the gimmick act as Colon is in trouble but a knee to the gut as Abudadein jumped off the top allowed Colon to come back. Carlos is on fire here taking it to Abudadein until Abudadein caught him with a cheapshot although that didn't last long as Carlos fought back and got a backslide to win the match. Short but very fun match and I'll pass it forward as a low-end pick.
