December 12, 201311 yr comment_5575962 I'm partial to 92 due to matches getting so much time and the work was second to none.
December 12, 201311 yr comment_5575983 Honestly a good comp is best. There are a lot of years in the '80s with long stretches where nothing happens on the Saturday show.

The promotion really clicked that year. I agree 86 is a great year. Unfortunately the Saturday Night show doesn't really hold up all that well for some years. I just recently watched the 85 and 86 years again and some of it was pretty hard to sit thru. Maybe I'm just not a fan of the small studio shows anymore. Even back then I enjoyed Worldwide more. Personally I would go that route or what Bix said and go the best of route.
December 13, 201311 yr comment_5576000 The atmosphere of Worldwide and Pro, in arenas, blew away the Techwood Drive setting. Plus it seems more "big" things happened on the syndie shows. The TBS Saturday show was probably more widely seen but on the scale of importance it seemed closer to Prime Time, as opposed to Superstars.
December 13, 201311 yr comment_5576013 I hated it when they changed the Saturday Night set in '94 to that crappy sci-fi stuff. The only thing that worked out of that was the intro music.
December 13, 201311 yr comment_5576047 If you want to watch the 86 stuff, you also need to go looking for some house show comps to actually see the payoffs to the feuds.

December 15, 201311 yr comment_5576145 "'86, Rhodes." Do really nice quality season sets of Worldwide exist out there? I'd think '85 and '86 would be outstanding with all of the tv title defenses by Tully and Dusty, the Koloffs and Road Warriors, Magnum's emergence. Those have to really be two great years.
December 15, 201311 yr comment_5576147 I don't think either year is entirely complete, but most episodes are available. With regards to TBS, the key thing to remember is that most wrestling promoters did business under the assumption that the majority of the fanbase didn't have cable. So until the early 90s, most of the big stuff happened in syndication.
December 15, 201311 yr comment_5576193 I'd go with 92. The 2 out of 3 format was cool while it lasted .
