(8/31/83) Charlie Brown vs. Bill Howard (8/31/83) God I hated the Charlie Brown gimmick because it made the biggest mockery of the LLT loser coming back under a mask gimmick. Bob Orton Jr. vs. Rick Link (8/31/83) Yep this was the same Man Mountain Link from Memphis working as a jobber in JCP. Then we get promos from Slater, Valentine, & Briscos about the Richmond show on 9/23. Rufus R. Jones & Chief Wahoo McDaniel vs. Ben Alexander & Bill White (8/31/83) Fairly easy win for the faces. Next we get promos from Brown, Rufus. & Wahoo. NWA World Heavyweight Title: Harley Race © vs. "Nature Boy" Ric Flair (8/31/83) This is one of the iconic matches and angles of this era of JCP as Flair is trying to get the gold back on TV no less with the bounty on Flair's head as well. The match itself is great as both men are tremendous here but you throw in the angle and you get gold. Grand slam nomination. Then we get Steamer & Youngblood expressing their anger over what just happened.
