Posted August 1, 200520 yr comment_3037403 I took the liberty of setting up an IRC chat channel on EFnet called #NMB. I know a lot of people here do the AIM chat thing, but as CJ knows, the AIM chat room setup makes me want to stab my eyeballs out. I've been on IRC since the day I first got on the net, and I think it's a much better setup for chatting. Anyway, I thought I'd throw it out here, if anyone wants to try it out. For those who don't know about EFnet, you can get all the info you need (plus a client) here.
August 1, 200520 yr comment_3037621 Managed to get in with Gaim, after some tweaking and loud profanity. It's been, like, ten years since I chatted on mIRC. This is cool.
August 1, 200520 yr comment_3038245 I'm there. And so partying with the crickets! (... *tap tap* is this thing on? )
August 1, 200520 yr comment_3038429 Just as a quick reference, for those connecting in through Gaim or a different client: Server - irc.efnet.net /join #NMB
August 1, 200520 yr comment_3038825 You might want to consider linking to a chat applet in addition to providing basic connection info, to help those scared to death of IRC (i.e. most people I've encountered on the 'net so far.) PJIRC is a good one I've used.
