Posted August 2, 200520 yr comment_3057707 So Terry Bowden did a little article on his top 16 teams for this year. Check It Out Here's his list though: 1. USC 2. Texas 3. Tennessee 4. Ohio State 5. Michigan 6. LSU 7. Virginia Tech 8. Oklahoma 9. Miami 10. Florida 11. Iowa 12. Florida State 13. Georgia 14. Purdue 15. Auburn 16. Louisville So where to start with this..... I guess I might as well start with Texas. Good to see they're yet again thought of so highly by everyone in coaching. I still have yet to see Vince Young as anything more than a painfully average QB. Giving them the benefit of the doubt with Oklahoma I don't agree with either. Until they can actually beat Oklahoma once I'm never going to pick them. I think Ohio State is going to be a hard challenge as well. Replacing Cedric Benson could be tricky. Virginia Tech...... let's get this straight, Marcus Vick sucks. The few times he's actually played he's looked awful. He can run decently but I don't think I've even seen him throw. Defense might save them though. Florida State. I think it's safe to say this was a total homer pick. I think Ohio State and Michigan are a little high. I'd place them 8 and 9 maybe. It's just too hard to get through the Big Ten without taking a loss or two anymore. Purdue, no way. The team's defense isn't that great and a lot of they're success last year was due solely to Kyle Orton's super human efforts during many games. I think they could win 7 maybe 8 games but they're in no way a top 16 team. Oklahoma's too low. I'd probably stick them in Michigan's spot. They've made two straight National Title games, deserved or not, so they should be higher.
