Can you imagine the markout of the century if Bret came out somewhere along the line to confront HBK?

While the realist in me would like Hart to stay away from WWE TV, the mark in me would love it if he confronted BOTH Hogan and HBK on Monday, since he has perfectly good reason to be pissed at both. And then announce that he's special ref.

 

In fact, at the risk of getting carried away, I'd book the ending of SummerSlam to be Hogan beating HBK, with Hart counting the pin. HBK getting pissed and taking out Hogan, then confronting Hart, then suddenly, the GLASS SHATTERS. Austin shows up, stuns Michaels, then stares at Hart face-to-face with the mic, and says,

 

"I think back to the war you and I had back in the day, where you were cheered, I was booed, I was cheered, you were booed, and on and on. I don't say this too often, but there's one thing Stone Cold Steve Austin has to say about those days.

 

Thank you, Bret."

 

Finally, that's when you have your final goodbye that he wanted to do.

 

After that, take the man off TV until the HOF induction.

Ok, I understand yalls arguments in Bret Harts favor. But mamas deal is, is this really the way people looked at it at the time? The few smart marks who were around at the point, yeah. But did the average WWF fan in the early 90s understand everything you guys jus said and were they capable of processing it? Or where they really jus cheering for Bret because they were suppossed to? Cause he was "the new main good guy".

 

I guess its jus confusing that in the cartoon/superhero era of the wwf that "guy who works dilgently and is good at his job" Bret Hart was that hugely popular.

Again, I don't think you can underestimate how much handing out sunglasses to kids in the crowd did to get him over. He was always moderately over, and the company soon got behind him. What got him over as champ was defending the belt so often. Losing the belt the way he lost it wasn't the right decision, but losing the belt didn't hurt him at the time, considering he went on to feud with Jerry Lawler in what was a hot feud at the time and won the first King of the Ring tournament.

I'd rather keep Bret off TV til he grows his hair back in. Him coming on Raw or Smackdown with the shaved head makes the little Hart mark in me weep.

He had hair a few months ago when he went to RVD's store. When did he go bald?

Being a mark back in the early 90's and a huge fan of Bret's, what drew me in was the excitement he created in his matches. When he wrestled, I knew that I would be entertained, regardless of the opponent. His matches on PPV in 1991 and 1992 were show stealing sometimes and the fact that he did have the "cool" factor going didn't hurt. He just came off as cool with the jacket and sunglasses. He was able to cut promos fairly well and just seemed like he could do anything.

Meltz said he'll have a full report what went down and the details in this week's Observer. I didn't get my copy today so hopefully it will arrive tomorrow. If so, I'll definitely report all of the details.

That's fucking surreal...

While he does look older, Bret has aged far better than Shawn Michaels.

 

Anyway, outside of a one-shot deal, I'm not sure what they can do with him, but that one shot has plenty of potential. Keeping Bret around to book would be too awesome for words, but at this point, Bret has said he's more interested in devoting his time to his family and pursuing interests outside of wrestling, which is honestly probably the best thing for him.

I think Bret could stay at home and spend time with his family and be used sparingly as a storyline and booking consultant. When he was signed to the 20 year contract initially he believed he would have eventually been given a booker spot for the majority of the contract after he finished up in the the ring. I think given his understanding of wrestling and the shit they put on TV currently, that might be the best use for him. No way should he be used in any serious in ring duties considering his previous stroke. His current wife looks a lot better than his previous one, although his current wife probably hasn't had any kids of her own.

His first wife was a model, supposedly, but that was YEARS ago. So she must've fell the fuck off throughout the 15+ years they were married.

Take it from me, having kids can do that to a woman.
