July 8, 201411 yr comment_5611564 So am I the only one who finds the idea that the WWE is telling people to watch a 90 minute special on the Money in the Bank PPV WHILE RAW IS ON during a RAW commercial a complete sign of desperation
July 8, 201411 yr comment_5611568 Just got this and I'm kind of confused about viewing the old school house shows on this. I read before on here that all the house shows were up but I only see a handful on my iPad app. It would suck if that's all they have since I only got it to watch some early 80's Andre and Backlund matches and don't give a fuck about watching the soap opera shit. If you really really want out of your subscription, call for a replacement card. The next time WWE goes to bill you it'll cancel out your order due to a new card number. I had to get a new card due to mine being jacked up and forgot to change my WWE Network subscription. When they emailed me I was like "oh yea...don't care" I have so much other wrestling that I want to watch, with a DVD collection that is growing seemingly daily, I barely watched The Network anyway. Only thing I watched on there was the PPVs and Legends House and Legends House is over. I have a huge backlog of Continental, Puerto Rico, Portland, SMW etc that until they start putting up more territory footage I'm not going to go back. EDIT: All that said they are finally doing a free trial the smart way, without a credit card. Not sure how I feel about them trying to hype Monday Night Wars for immediately after Raw. It's pretty late for such an important show.
July 8, 201411 yr comment_5611580 Don't think I can watch this "Monday Night Wars" special. Hearing Vince imitating Turner's "I'm in the wrasslin' business now" for the umpteenth time isn't doing it for me.
July 8, 201411 yr comment_5611587 My favorite quote was when Russo was talking about how the #1 guy in the business should really never talk about the #2 guy in the business. That was really funny given Vince Russo entire WCW and TNA run was based on looking at the #1 promotion at the time and copying it to terrible levels. Yeah a good deal of it was historical bullshit but very entertaining show
July 8, 201411 yr comment_5611588 @TNACreative pointing out the bullshit on Twitter was nice. Between this and a lot of the original programming I get the sinking feeling that the order of the day with Network is to establish a legacy lionizing Vince McMahon built on half-truths and out and out lies.
July 8, 201411 yr comment_5611600 I didn't have the SNME on my Roku this morning. But, I logged out and logged back in, and there they were.
July 8, 201411 yr comment_5611601 Watching the first SNME now, funny how they edited out Windham/Rotunda/Steamboat coming out to Real American, and the song they replaced it with had the line "I'm proud to be American made".
July 8, 201411 yr comment_5611606 They didn't use "Born In The U.S.A." then? The replacement sounds very Springsteen (that is, if Reagan brain-washed him).

Windham and Rotunda didn't use Real American until I think the fall of 1985 (October or so). Doubt the song was even recorded by the time the first SNME happened.
July 9, 201411 yr comment_5611713 Included at the end of the episode when the Madness meets the Mania, is the Piledriver Music Video!
July 9, 201411 yr comment_5611785 Legit question: For everyone who subscribes to The Network, if it had launched with just the vault and none of the pay-per-views, but still at the $9.95 per month price tag, would you have still subscribed to it? I definitely would have, but I also paid about the same for the Classics on Demand service which offered far less content. The pay-per-views are just a great bonus. I wonder how many people subscribed because of the 'free' PPV's and whether or not WWE would have been better off by just offering the vault and some of the original programming like the Beyond the Ring specials and Legends House.
July 9, 201411 yr comment_5611788 I would have, and despite the growing negative sentiment I'm still happy with the service. I do wish more content would be added, and that they would iron out all the technical issues. That being said, it's still a service I get a lot of mileage out of and don't see myself ever tiring of using.
July 9, 201411 yr comment_5611789 I think a lot of the growing sentiment is more from a business perspective. I didn't get a chance to watch Money in the Bank live, although I heard there were a few technical hiccups with it and over the past week or two, there's been several technical hiccups with the live stream (which I admittedly rarely watch), but it seems like the majority of subscribers seem happy with the service. I think people are just disappointed that WWE hasn't done a better job at promoting The Network on Raw and that WWE has fallen short of their subscriber goals. I don't really care too much about the business part as long as it doesn't affect The Network's quality. I do wish that there was a wider variety of content, especially as someone who subscribed to Classics on Demand for a long time, so the stuff like Legends of Wrestling, WCCW TV and ECW Hardcore TV isn't really new stuff for me.
July 9, 201411 yr comment_5611792 Overall I'm happy with it. The ppv thing allowed me to start watching the current product. I'd be happy as a clam if they would add a new houseshow once a week. Of course I'd want more nostalgia stuff up. My main thing is I have 30 minutes or an hour. I can throw something on w/o going through my discs .
July 9, 201411 yr comment_5611808 Yeah, I really like it as something to throw on, especially to be able to toss an old episode of Raw on in the morning. And it is nice to be able to just check out a pay per view live. The frustration on adding content is that it's all right there for them. They could add a month of ECW every week without trying, a month of WCW, etc., and it's all stuff they already have set up from Classics on Demand. It just feels lazy.
July 9, 201411 yr comment_5611824 Having the new PPV's every month wasn't a selling point for me. Having all the old PPV's with some old TV sprinkled in was enough to get my money. With that being said I honestly just don't have the time to watch the Network to even justify paying the low fee. I want to support it to keep it around, I'm just not sure if I will since time is more an issue for me. Even for my kids the novelty has worn off. They would rather watch Netflix.
July 9, 201411 yr comment_5611827 I think there's just a wide inability to figure out how to distribute content amongst the Network people. Like they didn't audit what they had and figure out a schedule.
July 11, 201411 yr comment_5612152 Not following NXT, Main Event and Superstars as much as I did. Just don't have the time to keep up. I still try to catch the Countdown and WrestleMania Rewind stuff as enjoy those. For the most part I am just going through the Raws from mid 90's as they put them up. On episode 103 and have seen them all. Started the Saturday Night Main Event shows. Those are loads of fun to watch. Piper was awesome and I always enjoy listening to Jesse on commentary.
July 11, 201411 yr comment_5612158 I was also a subscriber to Classics On Demand, so I would have got the Network if it was just old stuff and not PPVs. I agree that the main point of frustration among us hardcore fans is that we know they have a lot more stuff already in the can digitized and ready to go, but there doesn't seem to be any clear plan to add content other than "throw a bunch of shit up when subs start to cycle".
July 11, 201411 yr comment_5612162 They also seem to put stuff up and then take it down. I presume most of the time that is due to some type of music royalty issue. Raw episodes 102 and 103 were taken down right after being up. Even episode 101 was removed for a couple days. They don't seem to be doing their proper reviewing of stuff before putting up. The whole thing is still worth it for me but they seem overwhelmed on being able to upload stuff at this time. Going to take a long time for them to get all the Raws and Nitros uploaded. We are not seeing any B and C shows making an appearance anytime soon.
July 11, 201411 yr comment_5612166 They would put Raws and Nitros up every two weeks when they were doing the Monday Night War on VOD. I'm sure once they start rolling out they'll do something similar. The biggest issue to me seems like they are unorganized rather than overwhelmed, unless the only have literally one person doing all the work, it should just be a matter of uploading the video files.
July 11, 201411 yr comment_5612167 They seem to be trying to upload 3 to 4 episodes of Raw per week right now. Yeah, you get the random Best of Raw show from other years here and there. I still feel like we won't seen any Nitros until Raw catches up to September 1995 which isn't too far away actually with Raw being up to March as this point. Still about two months away though. But when they need to upload Raw and Nitro at same time that will be more work. And then when those shows get to two hours it will slow things down even more. You are talking about them getting Raws up through the end of 2011. A long way to go. I understand that being their focus with the whole Monday Night War stuff. But again we are not going to see WCW Saturday Night, WWF Action Zone, etc. for a long time.
July 11, 201411 yr comment_5612201 I really wasn't expecting the B shows at all, anyhow. Just Raw and Nitro were what I figured we'd get.
