July 8, 20178 yr comment_5806517 Very little. There is random TV footage from 1965/66 on youtube. Scattered bits of house show footage. No idea what they may have in the vault. The Bruno vs Steele match from the recent collection is most likely from 1969
July 8, 20178 yr comment_5806536 More MSG footage, but that wasn't part of Vince Sr's territory until 1956, and then he went through periods where he had to share the rights to the Garden with other promoters or was shut out completely. He didn't gain full control until 1961 I think. So it's hard to say what 50s MSG footage is actually from when Vince Sr was promoting. In general there is much more 50s wrestling footage than the 60s, as in the 60s it just wasn't preserved because wrestling wasn't popular on a national level and the local stations mostly taped over stuff to save money
July 8, 20178 yr comment_5806560 There was A late 60s TV taping from DC that went up on eBay a few years back, Graham had somebody do a write-up on his site
July 8, 20178 yr comment_5806562 There are 4 episodes of that DC Show from 65-66. I have 3 of them but sadly the one I am missing had a Bruno promo.
July 9, 20178 yr comment_5806608 Is there any available footage of WWWF in the 60's? Id be interested to see what WWE has in their vault from the 1960s. I think I only even encountered one trader years ago who have very few stuff from that period. I know there's a Bobby Davis Tape from the 50s/60s but 4 random shows from WWWF TV exist which are May 9, 1965 December 2, 1965 January 6, 1966 January 13, 1966
July 10, 20178 yr comment_5806823 The first two years of WWE ECW have dropped this morning. 2008 dropped and they're flying through 2009 too so there's every chance the entire run will be up in the next few days
July 10, 20178 yr comment_5806832 The first two years of WWE ECW have dropped this morning. 2008 dropped and they're flying through 2009 too so there's every chance the entire run will be up in the next few days Even now we are in 2017 and I dont get what the point was in giving Ezkiel Jackson the title on the last night of ECW.
July 10, 20178 yr comment_5806834 Glad they're doing this fast. They just want to get them on there and be done with it.
July 12, 20178 yr comment_5807038 The WWE 24 on Kurt Angle was great, as that series tends to be, but man did it leave you not wanting to ever see him wrestle again. The whole theme was when he wrestles he won't stop until he breaks his neck, and even then he will rush to come back as soon as possible. He seems to be in a great place in life and I hope his rumored comeback won't mess up his sobriety.
July 12, 20178 yr comment_5807057 I got the impression the rehab happened post TNA, but he's worked since then in that very toned down style (like the Cody matches) - which is a good thing. He definitely seemed like he was in a good place. A very honest piece.
July 12, 20178 yr comment_5807066 It was definitely post TNA, as there were times he was certainly in the HBK style "no condition to perform" state on Impact. It made Dixie's comments come off as either her being the dumbest person ever or the most naive since she's the one that would have okayed him going out there like that.
July 13, 20178 yr comment_5807137 Coming in August: New Collections Kurt Angle: It’s True, It's TrueWWE Hidden Gems
July 13, 20178 yr comment_5807138 More Gems! Sweet. Can't wait to see what they've uncovered this time.
July 13, 20178 yr comment_5807183 More Gems! Sweet. Can't wait to see what they've uncovered this time. Hopefully the Randy Savage/Undertaker match. They've teased the match for long enough and really need to deliver.
July 16, 20178 yr comment_5807437 They also dumped a whole bunch of pre Hogan MSG shows on the network. Oddly nothing I didn't already have but it might explain why certain youtube channels either got pulled or removed themselves in the last few months.
July 20, 20178 yr comment_5807943 Some Boston Garden shows just dropped; I haven't checked the matchlists yet but they're all from 86
July 20, 20178 yr comment_5807950 The 2/8/86 show should be the one where Savage wins the IC title from Santana. I always thought it was funny how they tried to shoehorn this match into the Danny Davis: Heel Ref angle (which I don't think happened yet) because Randy won via heel shenanigans.
July 20, 20178 yr comment_5807952 The 2/8/86 show should be the one where Savage wins the IC title from Santana. I always thought it was funny how they tried to shoehorn this match into the Danny Davis: Heel Ref angle (which I don't think happened yet) because Randy won via heel shenanigans. You're right. At the time of the Savage IC title win, Danny Davis was just a masked jobber ("Mr. X") a referee and a member of the ring crew. They came up with the heel ref angle after the title change. Savage used an international object to knock Tito out and score the pin, and at the time they played it off as if Danny Davis didn't see it. After his heel ref angle started, they retconned it, to justify adding Tito Santana to the Bulldogs vs. Hart Foundation and Danny Davis match at Wrestlemania III. As I recall, they had originally wanted the match to be the Hart Foundation vs. The British Bulldogs for the titles, but Dynamite's back was still way too fucked up for him to wrestle a normal 2 on 2 tag match.
July 20, 20178 yr comment_5807958 And yet Dynamite had more ring time, playing Face in Peril, in that match than either Santana or DBS.
July 21, 20178 yr comment_5807960 What I remember most from that match was Davey Boy hitting the sickest-to-that-point-in-time Tombstone on Davis. Never recall seeing anyone else bouncing on a bump like that on those hard ass 80s WWF rings.
July 21, 20178 yr comment_5807962 In any case, besides Dynamite working the majority of the match, the other reason I don't really buy that the 6-man was a late audible is because by that point, seeing Davis have to get in the ring was a greater selling point than a title match would have been. As for the thing with the IC title change...I wonder if that was a happy coincidence or it was a case of "rainy day booking." We know how far in advance things were planned and it'd be odd for one ref to do double-duty for no particular reason when the Mr. X role could have been filled by anybody. I don't know if it's too much of a stretch to make sure the road agent assigns Davis to that particular match.
July 21, 20178 yr comment_5807964 Don't sleep on the Table for 3 with the Nation (Ron Simmons, Mark Henry, and Godfather). It's great fun with some good anecdotes and one nice callback to a previous angle.
July 21, 20178 yr comment_5807965 Was WWE ECW only occasionally in HD once the company switched over in 2008?
