Wasn't there an episode of Worldwide devoted to the original Simmons title week in Baltimore that included the full match?

I just saw the 8/8/92 episode and it showed Simmons getting picked, about 3 mins of the match and a post match interview.

The full match is on the 8/16/92 episode of Main Event.

Damn it on the Vader-Simmons match being the one where Vader regaining the title. Who cares? At the time, that felt deflating - like they were giving up on Simmons (which they were, because he instantly crashed back down the card right after, as if the title reign never happened).

I just realized that these don't drop until Thursday, which explains why I went looking for them last night and couldn't find anything.

Was Simmons supposed to beat Rude at Starrcade or drop the title before Rick got hurt?

WWE Network fucking sucks. So tired of it still feeling like a half-baked beta launch after several years.

I keep getting a Media Error for the Vince Russo episode of the Prichard Podcast. The stupid ad loads. The corporate disclaimer loads. The dumb MA-14 ratings screen loads. Every time. But the actual podcast doesn't.

I'm sure someone will make a joke that WWE Network is doing me a favor, lol, but it's still infuriating...bro.

(Everything else on WWE Network works, along with other streaming services, BTW - so it's not my connection or anything like that. Plus, others on Twitter have reported the issue too, specific to this particular episode.)

The Vince Russo episode of the Prichard show is easily the weakest one yet. It's shockingly boring. (WWE Network really was doing me a favor by not loading the show last night.) :P

I'll save you all the time and just recap what happened:

- Conrad reads something from Russo's book.

- Prichard responds with, "No, that was J.R.'s idea!"

And I'm not even a Vince Russo hater like so many of you - I see his many flaws - but his biggest attribute was that he had a story for everyone (which I was happy to see Prichard also credited him for) and you felt like you couldn't miss a single show. Contrast that with today where I don't even watch the weekly shows, only the PPVs, and I don't feel like I've missed a thing.

Conrad also kept plugging Russo's Realm Network, which I guess is his podcast or company, and that makes any "strife" between them feel like a work between two carnies. He was harder on Brutus "the fucking Barber" Beefcake and Virgil on previous shows than he was on Russo this week. Hell, he didn't even use his annoying "Bruce, who booked this shit?" catchphrase about any of Russo's WrestleCrap angles.

One of the things I have on my network watch-thread is ECW TV. Currently I am somewhere in the summer of 94. What's really strange is that considering how early they put up all ECW TV (which shows that they consider ECW as higher priority) that they never bothered to put up the ECW homevideo stuff. I mean I am not really keen on watching an undercard of ECW 1994, Chad Austin vs. Don E. Allen or Hack Meyers vs. Rockin Rebel is nothing I have to see in my lifetime, but still it seems odd, especially considering that at least at that point the TV shows mostly were hype-shows for the monthly big shows that ended up on homevideo (nothing wrong with that, mind you).

Thanks! I literally came into this thread to see if anyone posted anything about the Russo episode.

I'm so happy that they're keeping the Mid South TV coming.

Yeah, C.S. pretty much covered it. It was just like all the previous network shows so far, nothing new discussed or learned if you heard them cover the topic originally on the podcast - and their original Russo episode was over 3 hours long if I remember correctly.

Unless you were really dying to see a couple of video clips of Vince Russo and his uni-brow wandering around backstage in the WWF during the 90's, or you have a burning desire to see some clips of "Vic Venom" on Livewire. If that's the case, then this episode is can't miss.

:D

Hopefully I saved you two hours of your life.

Okay, it wasn't that bad, but it's easily the worst of the Network podcasts so far.

I'd recommend Piper and DiBiase, but not this one.

I've never listened to any of the podcasts, and this one was still an easy miss.

But don't diss Vince Russo's unibrow...bro!

Something Else to Wrestle With: John Cena

According to Bruce Prichard, he:

- Discovered

- Signed

- Saved the career of

John Cena

In all seriousness, he wasn't quite that braggadocios about it. He did say that "Cena made Cena."

Overall, even though the arguments between Prichard and Conrad were faker than ever, I still laughed more during this episode than I have during any of the others. Their banter is entertaining.

Conrad tried to compare the Cena stabbing angle to Bruiser Brody, but unless I missed it, they failed to link the reason why such a comparison would be made in the first place: Carlito being "responsible" for the stabbing.

Fun show, with the biggest takeaway being how disorganized and haphazard the "Ruthless Aggression" era was because of Vince's constantly changing whims.

They've pitched a "controversial show" for next week but aren't sure if they'll get permission to do it. What could that be? TNA? Chyna? Something else?

So only one hidden gem(although it is a grade A gem) then ? A nice few mid south episodes uploaded. So mid south from December 1981 to December 1984 can't be very far from being complete on the network.

As of now, they're only missing one from 1983 and only three or four from 1982. I think the purposely leave a few blanks, just to troll us nerds. Sort of like how they took their sweet time uploading the 1/1/96 RAW.
