Yeah I think it was found on something labelled "omni live events." I mean how big was the wcw library when WWE got it in 2001 ? It included everything that wcw got when it bought JCP in '88 and Crockett had bought other territories so I mean the potential footage they could have is nuts.
October 3, 20186 yr comment_5868464 So we could be seeing a tiered pricing format in the future: https://lordsofpain.net/a-4-tier-option-for-the-wwe-network-is-being-considered/
October 3, 20186 yr comment_5868470 Are ALL of these new? I can't remember if I've seen that AWA footage. Khawk? Kelly(on the MSG match)? Texas Rasslin’ 06/17/1952 – Legendary Lou NWA World Heavyweight Champion Lou Thesz puts his title on the line against the dangerous Wild Bill Longson. WWWF @ MSG 01/31/1972 – The Great Gotch Karl Gotch makes his impact felt on U.S. soil when he teams with Rene Goulet to face The Rugged Russians at Madison Square Garden. AWA 10/18/1984 – To Catch a Model Billy Robinson, accompanied to the ring by WWE Hall of Famer Lord Alfred Hayes, takes on Rick Martel in this contest from Canada.
October 3, 20186 yr comment_5868471 A tiered network is pretty much a done deal, they've already talked about it in their investor meetings. They are just waiting to finish the UK and India TV deals before announcing it.

My god some Karl Gotch footage, I'm super excited to see this. Edited October 3, 20186 yr by SPS typo
October 3, 20186 yr comment_5868475 Those new Hidden Gems sound incredible. I don't want to get too hot about it until we see if and how strongly they're clipped, but this reads like quite the haul.

Also excited for Thesz vs Longson and Danny Hodge footage
October 4, 20186 yr comment_5868489 I don't think that is the correct date on the Martel-Robinson match. Robinson fought Tony Atlas in Winnipeg on that day. Maybe it's actually 11/22/84 from St Paul
October 4, 20186 yr comment_5868495 I'd guess it's from 1983. They did clash in Winnipeg in 83. It could be their thanksgiving St. Paul match too, until now it was only available via raw footage. ill bet Winnipeg for now. gotch and goulet may be tag champs there...they did hold the belts briefly in that time frame.
October 4, 20186 yr comment_5868507 Yeah, they were the tag champs at that point. It was a short reign and I believe it only lasted another week or so, losing to the Baron and Iaukea Edit: Actually, if the date on the MSG show is correct, they dropped the straps the very next day in Philly
October 4, 20186 yr comment_5868518 Thesz, Gotch, Hodge, Takada, Robinson. Is it gun week cause all I see is shooters. I was totally expecting something Australian this week but these gems are way better.

October 4, 20186 yr comment_5868524 Alright, Khawk, I give up. What's the date and location of the Martel match? Martel is not champion at the time. Is it 3/24/83? Robinson is managed by Lord Alfred. Is this new footage?
October 4, 20186 yr comment_5868529 It's definitely a Winnipeg match. I don't have my TSN footage cataloged very well, so I don't know the date. Between Robinson, Hayes, and referee Bob Warren, there's a lot of fantastic mustaches in that ring!
October 4, 20186 yr comment_5868535 The one thing I noticed is that 3/24/83 is listed as a draw, and that is not the result for this match
October 4, 20186 yr comment_5868540 It's the same Robinson/Martel match on youtube listed 5/19/83 but it isn't listed on that card. And I cant find a card with Robinson beating Martel at all.

The Kotch/Goulet tag match runs 27:00 with intros, from film Martel-Robinson runs 17:09 with match jip Thesz-Longson runs 19:14 with intros Hodge tag runs 7:41, jip from film Takadas match runs 4:10 (This aired on NJ TV, NJ Classics, and a comm release as well Dan
October 4, 20186 yr comment_5868543 The youtube version of Martel and Robinson is actually 3 minutes longer, 19:57 I actually posted both 3/24 and 5/19 on the site a few months ago in the 1983 matches folder
October 4, 20186 yr comment_5868544 I believe the Gotch/Goulet match is from the 1/22/72 card from Boston not MSG. Notice the floorboards and wide ringside area. I could be wrong but MSG's ringside area is a pretty tight squeeze. Just watched the match. It's really fun. Gotch is awesome.
October 4, 20186 yr comment_5868546 It's Boston, the stairs have a rail on it which I haven't seen anywhere else and they are always placed on the side edge of the ring and not the corner. Also no ceiling microphone, the announcer uses it in the Pedro/Mulligan match but not the Gotch match. Case closed.
