August 3, 201411 yr comment_5616894 The Giant is in street clothes and a neck braces. Really good to see the NWO original trio together as it is shocking how few matches they have. The Giant tags in and lifts Hogan/Hall up but gets from behind by nash. NWO starts targeting the neck of Giant which I understand he is injured but it still is a little perplexing FIP segment. Shockingly, Bobby brings up how dangerous neck injuries are speaking from personal experience so he adds some good context. The neckbrace comes off and they are still hammering away on him. Giant shrugs off all three members and gets the hot tag to Savage. Giant chases Nash back to the locker room. Sting gives hall a Stinger splash and they fight to the outside. Bsichoff gets decked and The Disciple attacks Savage and Hogan gets the win. They still act like they don't know this is Brutus which is so dumb. Once again the heat of the NWO has lessened tremendously as even Bischoff getting knocked off didn't get much of a reaction and neither did the big Hogan/Savage showdown. Match was good enough. (**)
August 18, 201411 yr Author comment_5620137 This was a good glimpse of WCW's top talent, but the match was oddly laid out, with the hot tag just being one of those moments where time stands still because everyone was just standing there. There were times when so many things were happening that the crowd didn't know where to focus, and each moment subtracted from the other happening at the same time. Brutus Beefcake is someone we have never seen before, huh, Tony Schiavone?
May 5, 20169 yr comment_5751343 And whose bright idea was it to have the Giant as FIP? It's not dumb to work over the neck injury but it goes on for awhile with nothing much of interest happening. Despite Tony's best attempts at selling the historical significance of this, all the moving parts that Loss mentioned sort of take the crowd out of this and the whole ends up being less than the sum. The Disciple lays out Savage with the Apocalypse--ooh yeah, feel that burn at a low-level WWF tag team--and Hogan gets the pin.
June 25, 20169 yr comment_5758031 I didn't like this at all. This covers, what, the top three programs for Uncensored and I couldn't care less. During this I just rebooked 1998 WCW in my head the whole time. Depressing.
