August 11, 201411 yr comment_5618246 Rinse, wash, and repeat from everything that has been said about the earlier matches. Big time feel. This was a little sloppier in parts but it’s roughness gave it more of a shooty edge, which kind of works since both Goldberg and Saturn had expressed interest in participating in Shooto. Oh, and Kidman is great in his role as a sleazebag and is a very competent “manager” in this and the Raven match.
August 20, 201411 yr Author comment_5620610 This was really fun, but I think it went a little too long. This had unreal heat and Saturn did a great job feeding Goldberg cool stuff to do. It was sloppy at times for sure but another really effective match in getting Goldberg over.
August 28, 201411 yr comment_5621639 This was a whole new level for Goldberg as he gets taken to 8m and faces a challenge. Good Lord he was insanely over, every move he did got a pop! His offense was so explosive and he had this irresistible forward driving momentum. The man could only be contained, not stopped. Perry put up some strong resistance and, one blown spot aside, brought his A game. There were some impressive moves here, yet nothing could match the finisher. The Rings of Saturn somehow reversed into the Jackhammer! Incredible. Really fresh and exciting, I dug this.
September 1, 201411 yr comment_5622225 I appreciated the attempt with this match and Saturn tries and has good ideas but everything he does look so sloppy and rough that I couldn't get past it. He is able to work more on offense here against Goldberg and utilizes some strategy to make Goldberg look vulunerable but still strong. Finish run was effective and crowd is now molten for Goldberg. (**1/2)
September 27, 201411 yr comment_5629099 The Goldberg matches we've gotten to see (I assume we're only seeing the good ones), have been very effective at both getting Goldberg over as a monster, but also using a bit of a unique structure to build drama. This was no exception.
May 19, 20169 yr comment_5753698 There are some iffy moments here because Saturn's no ring general and Goldberg's still green--particularly that springboard whatever to the floor, and the final transition with Goldberg kicking his way back to offense could have been done more dramatically. But this was a very good effort and a very good attempt at creating some intrigue and drama in a match that looks like a foregone conclusion on paper, with Saturn playing good hit-and-run offense and the Flock around making nuisances of themselves. The finish is holy-shit, rewind-and-watch-again worthy. It could have been a disaster but Goldberg brute forces his way into executing. I don't know how people can dismiss Goldberg as nothing but a look or nothing but a Stone Cold ripoff. Even his scissored takedowns get huge pops and he was clearly an incredible athlete in addition to just being muscular.
July 15, 20169 yr comment_5759394 This was Saturn as Manami Toyota - Go Go Go Go Go mixed with unique counters by Goldberg. I wonder if he planned this counters or it just seemed like a good thing to do at the time. The end had Goldberg beating the entire flock and a superior show of strength at the finish which made this fun to watch.
June 28, 20187 yr comment_5855127 This was hilarious as it was basically Goldberg launching Saturn (and his friends) about the place with one beastly move after another while Saturn found some believable ways to work over Goldberg. Goldberg actually sold far more than Saturn, as Perry was pretty robotic, came back almost immediately after Goldberg hit him with something and didn't show any fire whatsoever. Goldberg's performance was a textbook example of how an unstoppable wrecking machine should have a semi competitive match against a much lesser opponent and it's no wonder he got so mad over. I mean look at all that! Last counter was insane.
