August 26, 201411 yr Author comment_5621397 WCW booking is such a mess now that a WCW guy is a heel against an NWO guy. Bret has such generic lines in his WCW promos but they get a great heel reaction. He seems really determined to make something out of his feud with Savage.
September 3, 201411 yr comment_5622558 The Bret Hart segments might be the most consistently depressing elements of a depressing promotion. I have no idea what they were trying to convey about his character. And Okerlund made blatantly contradictory statements about Bret's history with Savage. It's like everybody who touched the main event scene caught the same brain-liquifying disease.
September 6, 201411 yr comment_5623001 Yeah, this had certain phrases by Bret that were able to rile up the crowd but damn was this a mess overall and Savage vs. Bret wrestling should have felt a lot more special than it does heading into the PPV.
May 28, 20169 yr comment_5755027 "It's not easy being a hero" was a great line that got great heat, and I admire Bret's fire. But yes, this is a dream match (not literally their first, but close enough) that doesn't really feel like it. Why is it we can't get an explanation of why he helped Hogan now, after weeks treating that secret like Bret was about to drop the formula for Coke on us? Oh, and the other highlight is Bret fulfilling my expectations and hopes by referring to the upcoming PPV as "The Slamboree."
August 30, 20169 yr comment_5765868 It's like you can read Bret's face saying, "Maybe Vince isn't so bad ... " Bret is the shits for the rest of his career.
