Last few minutes of this debacle. DDP is trying to make the hot tag to Jay Leno. I think gaga in wrestling can be done just fine, but this is such a blatant defecation on what wrestlers do that I can't imagine any pro wrestler who takes their craft seriously not being offended by this headlining a pay-per-view. Eric Bischoff vs Jay Leno in a singles match on the undercard would have been fine and would have gotten just as much publicity if that's what they were going for. Cringe-worthy. The Goldberg spear/photo-op was the only thing here that was even mildly redeeming.

I felt bad for the announcers, having to sit there and put over Leno. Ugh. On the other hand, Kevin Eubanks looked like he could have worked a decent few minutes. I didn't really get Goldberg's motivation in coming out. He had never been portrayed as that type of character. But whatever. No use trying to find sense in all this madness. Again, it's amazing they thought fans would remain loyal, given these types of matches as PPV main events.

I'm dangerously close to agreeing with El-P here. I won't go as far as him, but this was decidedly less of a farce than the previous month's main event if only because they *knew* they had to work creative overtime to try to make this something close to watchable, and because Leno and Eubanks work hard with what they can do, with Eubanks actually looking pretty good. His exchanges with Hogan might well be the best parts of the match. This is not even a good celebrity match and it's an insult to have expected us to pay money to watch it and Bischoff is put over as badly as Leno is, but it's also not the total disaster that it could have been. It's still a sad sight to hear Tony and Tenay have to put over Leno's "quickness" and hard work "training," I agree. Goldberg chumming it up with Leno and DDP is more evidence that they don't really know what to do with the guy, too.
