September 15, 201411 yr Author comment_5625084 Cool to see a late version of this matchup. I don't expect this to be anything other than interesting in 1998, but this was very good. Unlike the weird tag that preceded it, this is something that I suspect would look excellent in full if we had it. Liger is always willing to go the extra mile to put Samurai over as a threat. Interesting finish with Samurai trying to gut it out and shake off Liger's strikes until a deadly shotei leaves him prone to a pinfall.
October 30, 201410 yr comment_5636971 Fuck the way they clip this up as this looked damn good. Samurai seemed game and hit a beautiful dive and missile dropkick. I also loved his selling of the first palm strike as if to tell LIger that they young boy shit wasn't going to work against him. Liger comes out looking strong and gaining legend status. Tons of fun.
September 20, 20169 yr comment_5768974 Yeah, this was something I could have viewed in full. That said I don't think the ending worked at all, as Samurai's attempt at a Hulk-Up just looked goofy, and it seemed to lose the crowd as well who either didn't buy it or didn't get it what they were going for.
