Because this is my baby. I don't have a means to distribute this to others who would chip in, and I don't plan on keeping all of these matches anyway. I'm going to watch all of the matches and determine what's comp-worthy, so the tape is going to be tossed after I've done that and converted the good stuff to DVD. The complete sets are what I'll trade off to the rest of you.

Well, instead of tossing the tape, i would suggest you trade it off to Brian or myself.

 

Also, I can check with Dan for the PPV version of Wrestlewar 1990.

Why would you want the tape when I'm going to make a DVD set of the best stuff?

Because there are other people out there who may want more than the matches that you selected. For instance, I have about 300-400 DVDs that may only contain one good match but some people prefer the complete show. Or if a future compilation of Sting matches comes up fo example, and I want a key Sting match that you thought was shit, it would be nice to have it available. One man's trash is another man's treasure basically.

I'll send it to you if you want, but anything even marginally good is going on the DVD set.

Yes. The only 1990 TV he has is one tape that he purchased from Friedlander himself.

It isn't so much that I am telling you to hold off, just that there is a cheaper way. If I say "hold off", I am only implying that you can save money with a little patience. If you want the matches immediately, then by all means you should order from Friedlander. If you can wait a couple of months, I'll put those on the next batch since the Palladino TV and his World Class collection were already sent in my wishlist. I thought you had already looked at his tape list and you said he only had one tape. As for the Portland, I am loving what i have seen from mid-weight Buddy Rose so far. I am going to ask Frank Jewett for Portland recommendations and maybe he can help narrow our search. Dan said he had no idea what was on them.

 

So, for Ginnetty, here is how I will structure my requests...

I already have his Memphis complete (I think) and half the Palladino. I am waiting to see if he gets some UWF Power Pro masters. If so, I am not going to convert any Mid South-UWF since he will already have them in better VQ.

 

Also, he is going to get the entire original first-run All Japan classics in master form. In turn, I am planning on helping him convert those into DVDs.

Cool. Where would be a good place for me to focus? What promotions are we really needing that I could grab all the essential stuff of? I want to contribute, but you're doing such a good job on your own that I'm not sure how I can help.

Right now, we are weak on 90s joshi and All Japan comm. shows. We can get this from Dan but there is so much that I would use up all of my trade bait in one order. Since these are fairly easy to get a hold of, I have been cashing in on the rare stuff.

 

Another weak area is classic WWF footage (MSG, Spectrum, etc). Alot of the DVDVR set can be improved upon easily. Bruiser, EJ, and teke have most of the CHVs covered but we need those old shows.

 

Mort has a huge chunk of NJ Classics so we would want to obtain those from Mortimer.

Oh, I forgot ... the absolute best way to contribute is to pitch in when we go in on the bulk buys. I think the last one went pretty damn smooth for as much footage and as many people that I had to look after.

Ok. From here forward, I'll pitch in on every bulk buy and start seeking out AJPW comms and Joshi from Lynch and Ginnetty, as well as old MSG/Spectrum/Boston shows. I'm fairly sure I know how to track those down.
