Has anyone seen any matches that are glaring omissions and will seriously challenge any of the matches on this list?

I really liked the Taboo Tuesday cage match between Ric Flair and Triple H. I don't think it can compare with the top matches from the list, obviously, but I do think that it can compare with some of the listed matches. Like both Angle/Michaels matches.

OK, I have already started on Vol. 1

 

I was going to wait until I had all the matches and do them in chronological order. Unfortunately, I do not know when I will receive the missing matches. I have some spare time on my converter right now so I will just have the matches chronological on each disc. Each disc will run about 4 hours and I do not know how many discs it will end up being.

Akiyama & Kanemaru vs. Kobashi & Hashi 8/19

 

8/19 takes all of the Kobashi/Go tag matches from this year, and tears them to shreds. 5/8 just tears everything to shreds

I need about three fights from this year, but I think i have the ability to cover the year in MMA FOTYC. If I don't win the DVDVR picks contest, I'll pick up the Ultimate Fighter season 1 Box set and pluck the live finale off that.

What about the 2nd Benoit vs Regal match? Some say it's better than their 1st one. I haven't seen it yet though.

I'd say Gibson/Danielson 9/17 from RoH is a glaring omission. Danielson/Punk 2/12 from FIP as well but to a lesser extent. Mistico/Averno 1/30 too.

Disc 1 is completed and Disc 2 is underway.

HHH vs Flair from Survivor Series. I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this.

Benoit vs Booker T 2nd Match of the best of 7. I just watched this and it ruled all. Benoit has been so on lately.

 

The Regal match should be here too but it might be too short.

Disc 2 is complete.

What was the word on the 2005 MOTYC DVD's? Goodhelmet, I believe, sad he sent them to Loss & Sek and that we should talk to them about the DVDs if interested? Something like that.

Goodhelmet was putting them together, but he was waiting for 2005 to finish before finalizing the project. He's not using the Meltzer Year, he's going Jan to Dec.

Yeah, I am working on Vol. 3 right now and searching for about 6 more matches.

 

I have the WWE TV but am looking for upgrades. If not, they will get their own 2 hour dvd.

I am re-pinning it. It isn't about additions since I am editing my post and not posting every time I edit.

I'm going to nominate match #4 of the best of 7 series between Benoit and Booker T. Action packed with one of the most believable near falls in a long time that played off of the match where Booker won the title. It had a lot of "Oh f***, Benoit's really going to get swept" moments.

Disc 3 is completed. I will begin Disc 4 in about a week.

I finally got to watch Hidaka/Fujita vs. Kenta/Marifuji from the Differ Cup Finals.

 

What is any good about the match? Lots of random, very spotty juniors sequences for the whole match.

It was a long, epic, slowbuild match. It was just a typical wrestling story, where one team gets a long control segment, and the other has to come back, and then they switch roles. If it was spotty, almost every New Japan juniors match ever was spotty. Then again, I've only seen it once, so maybe I'm not remembering it clearly. Maybe I'll finally re-watch it soon.

Booker vs. Benoit - Match 4 deserves a look if just for Booker's performance. Really good mix of holds to control and work over Benoit. Sharmell played her role well, with the broom being a nice touch. The only problem that I had with the match was Benoit not really selling any of Booker's finishers.

Ok, I added some matches that have gotten a show of support from multiple people. One match, I added because one guy from DVDVR and one guy from Smarkschoice recommended it but I don't know if it deserves to be on there (Cannon v. Hero match). I also added Jannetty-Angle and HBK-Benjamin from WWE TV even though I think they are merely entertaining and no way MOTYCs. Still, too many people are praising them to flat out ignore them like I tried to. I have made deals with three people to expedite the process of getting me the missing shows I need in order to finish these before January. If anyone sees anything from the month of December worth including let me know ASAP. I also have about 2-3 more lucha matches I need to include but haven't looked at my list yet.

 

As far as distribution, I am only sending these to people who have the ability to go from DVD to DVD. How they choose to distribute them is up to them. Hopefully, the people I send to will understand that the purpose of this project is to encourage discussion and debate and to give it to people who are willing to give their thoughts on the various matches.

 

Right now, kid zombie has confirmed that he will help distribute them. sek also said he would but I know he has a huge lot of shows he is transferring now so I do not know if he will have the time to commit to it. Loss was going to distribute them but his DVD burner is on the fritz. If anyone else is willing to help distribute the set, let me know.
