OK, we all have real lives and we have been working on this project longer than any sane people should ever work on something but time is running out and I want to see this project come to some sort of conclusion. At this point in time, I don't know how many people are still going to buy DVDs in the near future but the number is dwindling. Phil Schneider doesn't watch DVDs anymore and he is the founder of this project. However, I have a small window in which I think DVDs can be worth my time. Therefore, as of now, with Portland so close to completion and questions about Puerto Rico still up in the air, I plan on finishing Portland by October and will discuss with Dylan and Boricua the reality of getting a Puerto Rico set out sometime. That gives people plenty of time to watch the lucha footage and get a set out this year.

I am going to work with shoe and Kris to watch all available Crockett/Mid Atlantic/Turner and old WWF footage to release the 2 most wanted sets we have left.

If we can get a Puerto Rico set out in between then cool. I will be happy to put it together. Boricua give me an update on where we stand with PR footage.

I don't know if I will release both the Crockett and WWF sets next year but it seems likely. With the sets in circulation and the DVDs out there, the project can still move forward and if interest is left for an errata or other territories set, i will be happy to put those together but someone will have to take the initiative to help me gather footage and watch and nominate matches. I have no interest in pursuing a joshi set so somebody else can take the lead on that if they want that set out there.

 

I have talked to Kris and shoe and they are committed to the project. If anyone else can commit time to help finish this then cool. If not, no worries but I am moving forward.

That all makes sense. I will at minimum do whatever's needed to finish off Portland.

I think the fate of the Europe set lies partially with me, because I have most of the footage. I'd like to see it exist and yet, if I'm being honest, I don't know that I have it in me to review all that stuff. I certainly see why Will would want to put out the NWA/WCW and WWF sets ASAP, because they're the most likely money makers before the DVD market collapses completely.

OJ, not necessarily but I need someone to review the stuff I already put out there. If Childs sends my discs to Kris and Kris watches them, we'll put out a Europe set. Also, I was trying to make some trades to gather some German footage but that never materialized. Maybe I can revisit that deal and see if I can gather that footage.

The footage Childs has is only half the WoS footage. Plus Germany, Austria, Belgium and Wales footage needs to be accumulated. It's not really worth doing if it's only going to be TWC stuff.

I have or can pick up whatever Lynch has. If we can pick up that German 80s stuff that was floating around, cool. I absolutely agree that it is not worth doing just for a WoS set but I also not having luck getting other footage.

If it goes ahead, I have at least the stuff I nominated from the original broadcast footage on disc (if you don't want to do a bulk buy from the guy I order it from.) Jetlag might supply the Germany footage.

Well, I've waited an extra week or so to see if I received any new messages. I had two contacts I had sent messages to (Havoc the guy with the youtube channel and he had referred me to Wild Bill Brown for footage) and it looks like they:

 

1 - aren't checking those e-mails too often,

2 - are on vacation, or

3 - I've been blown off.

 

Right now, I'm feeling that it's number three (at least I think that's the case with WBB, with Havoc i'm less sure). I'm still on the lookout for anything else that can be done / turned up, but right now i think we might have to go the youtube rip method for a few of the matches. The one I've tried to find is the Carlos Colon dvd set, but that's out of print and I haven't been able to go to some of the more out of the way shops to see if they may have it.

 

Did Khawk manage to go through the PR footage he had acquired to see what he had?

I've got PR stuff. My last week of work is coming up and then I will have a few weeks to finish up what I have here.

I'm in touch with Bill Brown, what specifically were you needing from him? He told me he doesn't do much with DVD trading anymore as he got scared when WWE raided he & Pancoast's table at Wrestlecon in 2013. He still occassionally puts out updates & sells but seems like trading & collecting isn't as much a priority for him unless something sparks his interest. So I can try to get it from him or vouch for you or something as I'm trying to work out a small deal with him now if he's motivated.

In my case, it was that the guy in PR that I was in contact with referred me to him as someone with PR footage from WWC and IWA. What I wanted to ask Bill Brown was what PR footage did he have to see if there was anything we needed. If you're already in contact with him, and if you think it's possible, could you ask him what he has available from PR? It would be to see if he has something that we do not have or need on disc.

Will, with the joshi project dead, is it kosher if I put the footage I have online? There's a lot of good stuff here, and I'd feel bad just keeping it all to myself if we're not gonna do anything else with it.

True, although considering my track record of disorganization and struggling to keep up as a second banana on these projects, I'm not 100% confident on my ability to actually lead one. I do want to get the footage out there somehow, though.

We are in no hurry, this is a sprint not a marathon. I don't want to kill any part of the project though, if Joshi comes out in five years so be it.
