Posted October 5, 200519 yr comment_3598704 Caused by the Paparazzi Anyway, what is your view on the paparazzi? On one hand, I think that the invasive nature of their business is repulsive and I can see why celebrities would go off on these bastards. On the other hand, being a celebrity comes with a price and when you are famous, it isn't like you don't know what you are getting into. Still, risking someone's life for a friggin picture is too much. Ask Princess Di. What's your take?
October 5, 200519 yr comment_3599003 I don't think the paparazzi should enjoy the same freedoms as the media since they only report on celebrities anyway. The problem is wording that in a way that it holds up in a court of law.
October 5, 200519 yr comment_3599158 You know how many movies about the Paparazzi there are and them getting hurt? Its probably gonna happen if they keep doing stupid stuff like this. And I agree with Loss on the subject of the paprazzi not being classified as part of the media.
October 5, 200519 yr comment_3599464 The problem is the paparazzi isn't going to care as long they get their damn picture. All those paparazzi who caused Princess Di's crash didn't care that she was in danger of dying because they thought they could get some really good pictures of her mangled corpse. Graphic, maybe, but sadly true.
October 5, 200519 yr comment_3599935 I feel bad for the girl. Not necessarily because of this incident but because she's been through a lot recently. Including having to put up with all the scrutiny associated with her physical appearance. I thought she was hotter when she was thicker with bigger boobs and red hair. It wasn't really any of my business though. I was just a common man making an observation. It's a whole nother level when you factor in people basically stalking her with a camera for the same reasons though. It really goes for all celebrities. It's just that Lohan was young & hot so I felt worse for her than I do other celebrities. When I read the article that was linked to by the original poster, I could picture her sitting in the antique store crying and it made me feel bad. I'm such a bitch. Of course, I'm under the impression that she lost a lot of her weight because of illegal drug use (due to being associated with the wrong people), so my pity pretty much ends there. Still, I'd hang out with her and listen while she blew off some steam or whatever. As far as the question posed by Goodhelmet is concerned, I don't really know. I guess I'd have to see what it was like from a personal experience before I could comment on it. I mean, yeah, the paparazzi can be annoying or whatever but so can the celebrities. If you look at it from the other end of the spectrum, the paparazzi are just doing their jobs. It's just some people are A LOT more, um, dedicated to their craft I guess you could say. If I were famous, I'd rather deal with paparazzi whenever I went out than to have to act like I get along with other asshole celebrities whenever I went to award shows or whatever. If I didn't want to deal with anyone on any particular day, I just wouldn't leave the house. I mean, if you have a million-dollar home, you should have some shit in the crib that can entertain you for a few days. If the common people weren't so goddamn obsessed with celebrities, than the paparazzi wouldn't be so rabid anyway. If the everyday people didn't blow tons of money on shitty publications like People magazine and whatnot, then all those "candid" pictures wouldn't be worth so much and all the paparazzi wouldn't be acting like imbeciles to get the big payday.
October 5, 200519 yr comment_3601550 Ugh. When is this Lohan bitch 15 minutes going to end? She wasn't even super attractive in her bigger boobs days... I really don't get it with her.
October 5, 200519 yr comment_3602439 The papanazi are professional stalkers that are apperently above the law.
October 6, 200519 yr comment_3604647 If the common people weren't so goddamn obsessed with celebrities, than the paparazzi wouldn't be so rabid anyway. This sums up my feelings on the matter. I dunno; when Di died, it seemed really odd to me that seemingly everyone was blaming the paparazzi, without ever stopping to think "who buys the papers those photos are published in?"
October 6, 200519 yr comment_3604765 Ugh. When is this Lohan bitch 15 minutes going to end? When 1/3 of America stops having a breast fetish, most likely. It's not that complicated to grasp why folks ogled her, it's just harder to accept that traditional attractiveness is prioritized under voluptuousness by many. You do have a point, though. She was just a moderately attractive redhead with freckles before this little bit of artificial drama. Actually, I'm guessing her 15 minutes will end when she appears to be an adult to people. That's another discussion though, jailbait appeal.
October 6, 200519 yr comment_3607948 Eh, it was more an attrative, young redhead thing than an attractive, young, redhead with huge knockers thing, although it didn't hurt. Plus she's rich.
October 7, 200519 yr comment_3611141 Fundamentally I think the problem isn't the mentality, its the celeb-gossip magazine market that feeds these cretins.
October 7, 200519 yr comment_3616139 Isn't this how Princess Diana died? How Scarlett Johanssen got into an accident a couple of months back? Now Lohan is yet another victim of being hounded by tabloid press? When are these guys going to toe the line on decency? I'll admit it is a supply/demand issue with the public/paparazzi, but if the paparazzi actually start being responsible for killing/seriously injuring celebrities, who is there going to be to read about to warrant their existence?
October 9, 200519 yr comment_3628916 Fundamentally I think the problem isn't the mentality, its the celeb-gossip magazine market that feeds these cretins. It's because we're brought up from birth to believe these people are inherently better than us, therefore their lives must be worth reading about. Example: when the second book about Princess Di came out, with the real genuine interviews with her in it. They interviewed an old man on the street, and he said how disgusting it was, cashing in on her name and the like. The interviewer asked him if he was buying the book, and he said of course. Asked why, he said "because it's there".
