October 23, 201410 yr Author comment_5635004 Last few minutes. Mankind is the ref. Rock is on commentary. The finish cements Big Show as just another guy, as he had no business losing to Austin this early in his WWF run. Vince apparently used to call Dave Meltzer to laugh at how WCW used The Giant, claiming they had no clue what to do with him, only for him to do a far worse job using him than WCW did. Austin hits Show with a series of chairshots then gets a stunner for the three count.
February 8, 201510 yr comment_5653333 Show looked so lost working WWF main events. He really shouldn't have been wrestling so soon after leaving WCW. He could have at least done some dark matches. Crowd was molten for everything though.
March 16, 201510 yr comment_5658862 This being a Raw main event feels like an odd hot shot by WWF part and really desperate for some reason when they had the war won by this point. Giant didn't look great and Austin seems to be sloppier than usual too but the finish was effective and we get our final sell job for Mania. Good go home show from the main event interest perspective.
May 6, 20178 yr comment_5799469 Yeah, Big Show isn't ready for prime time yet. His whole presentation is off--he's not carrying himself as a monster (other than the spot where he no-sells the posting), he's overweight, and the ring gear isn't all that flattering. Which is not to say he should have been doing the job here by any means. They try to save him somewhat by having him pop up from the Stunner after the 3-count, but too little, too late. Rock manages to lay out Stone Cold as we close out another pre-WrestleMania build-up that, strong go-home Raw notwithstanding, wasn't half as effective as the build to WM14. Just too many moving parts in the main event and not enough focus on the mid-card.
