Last few minutes. Charles Robinson, who has now cut and dyed his hair to look exactly like Ric, is playing favorites as referee. Flair submits to a figure four but Charles Robinson pretends he hears him say no then pretends not to see Arn interfering. Asya runs in and hits Piper and he kisses her before putting her in a sleeper. Next, Charles Robinson pulls him off by the hair and takes a punch. Meanwhile, Flair hits Piper with brass knucks and wins the match to keep control of WCW. What a mess.

 

Eric Bischoff shows up to Flair's chagrin. Bischoff tells Flair to shut the hell up and is here to declare that Piper won the match. Flair freaks out at ringside and Bischoff and Piper hug, which seems a little dramatic. Piper then fires Flair and this makes no sense at all. Fiair is such a joke now when he was a money-drawing icon just a few months earlier.

All of this is very dumb.

So much interference and BS. Everyone looks like an idiot. Especially Flair and Robinson. Charles tries his best not to look at Anderson interfering but then says screws it and look. Crowd goes nuts when Piper puts his hands on Asya. How could Bischoff fire Flair?

This was a mess on every level. Piper is still being protected fully which annoys me and then we get the bullshit finish galore with all the hijinks resulting in Flair winning only for grey-haired face Bischoff to reverse the decision and Piper and Bischoff embrace. This is awful.

BY WHAT AUTHORITY CAN BISCHOFF REVERSE THIS DECISION??

 

Good Lord this is horrible, and once again, fuck St. Louis for cheering Bischoff like this. Of course as usual no one clued in the announcers so they don't know what exactly to sell--Schiavone manages to pick up on Flair clearly submitting, but fucking TENAY says he didn't hear it. Incredible--even if they *weren't* told you'd think Tenay could figure out how wrestling (or improv) works and go along with it. *None* of the announcers have any idea how to sell the post-match, and why should they?
